Black Friday 2024 Deals for Men – 40% off Banana Republic, Bonobos 30% off, & More

NOTE: We’ll be updating daily all this week as more sales roll in/deals changeSo check back if so inclined.

Got a tip on an extra good Black Friday Sale? Send those in to joe@dappered.com. These things might change on a dime, but we’ll do our best to keep up.

Target: Up to 40% off select men’s clothes (new items added)

Tees for five bucks and an absolute haystack of stuff getting serious price cuts? Sounds like Target on Black Friday all right. RE that faux suede jacket: Hard to ask for more at that price. The faux “suede” feels and acts a little more like moleskin, which isn’t a bad thing. Helps keep it from looking too much like velvet or (shudders) velour. Moves great, fits well, feels good. Size shown above is a medium on 5’10″/185.

Huckberry: Black Friday Drop 2 (ends Sat. pm)

Drop 2 is live. Also note that it appears that most of the prices for drop 1 were “sticky.” So at least for now and perhaps until the tryptophan wears off at Huckberry HQ, the goods in drop 1 may still be on sale. For example, the wool lined waxed trucker is still getting a rare $54 off.

J. Crew: Stretch Washed Chinos in Slim, Straight, or Athletic Tapered – $69.50 ($89.50)

Good gravy sound the alarm. J. Crew just put their flagship chinos on sale. Excluded but for a handful of times each year. J. Crew’s timeless, stretch-washed chinos are popular enough that they simply don’t have to put them on sale that often. So this is really something for their fans. 97% cotton/3% elastane, 7.9 ounce twill great for 4-season wear. All the colors. Three fits. Just tap which fit you’re after and the product page should re-load for you. Link above should default to slim.

J. Crew Part II: NEW items added to their Black Friday Event + Further reductions taken

This got good in a hurry. Not only has J. Crew added some suits and blazers to their Black Friday event, they’ve slashed the price on much of their catalog to half off.

***UPDATE: J. Crew has further dropped the price on some of their Black Friday items for Cyber Monday through Tuesday 12/3. The catch is that those items with further price-drops are now final sale. Like the Peacoat and Cashmere Hats shown above. That’s an enormous issue for a lot of us, as final sale = you can’t return or exchange it. Full details and further picks here if you want to read up on it.

Meermin: Black Friday FINAL Sale

Just launched. Know that everything is final sale, so no returns or exchanges. Sizes are super scattered depending on the model. Head here for our recent in-person experience with Meermin. Very nice shoes but the sizing was so off that it’ll cause real hesitation for a lot of us to dive in. Especially when something is final sale like all of these shoes.

Banana Republic FACTORY: 68% – 76% off most

Banana Republic’s step-down/more affordable brand BR Factory has been running this 60% off + additional 20% off at checkout deal for awhile… but that doesn’t mean it’s not onen of the best of the season. Full original picks post here. Also know that GAP Inc. cardmembers get an additional 30% off w/ BRCARDVIP. And a note on those poly/wool blazers. They’re good! Maybe not great, but they sure are good for the price. They’re a true cool to cold weather weight. Not year round. Here’s how a 40R fits, unaltered on 5’10″/185.

Darn Tough: Free Shipping No Minimum (exp Sun.)

The Pick: Men’s The Standard Mid-Calf Lightweight Lifestyle Sock – $26

No better time to see what all the fuss is about. If you had to pick one type/model of socks that you’d be forced to wear with everything for the rest of your life… from working out to wearing with a suit and tie… these are the socks. No really. “The Standard” from Darn Tough are those socks. Perfect for casual, smart casual, and/or dressed to the nines. They do it all. Made in the USA, extra cushioning protects without being overly bulky, made from temperature regulating and moisture wicking merino wool. Machine wash gentle and tumble dry low. And now for the skeptical, Darn Tough is running a free shipping no minimum promo through Sunday. So for those who are like “there’s no way ONE pair of socks can be worth $26…” … now’s not a bad time to pick up just one pair to see for yourself. Or don’t. But free shipping usually won’t kick in until $50. So this is the time for those who want to buy a pair of socks, and just one pair of socks.

VAER Watches: 20% off sitewide

Was 15% off, now upgraded to 20% off. Includes their collection of American-assembled watches. Head here for a full review of one of their American Assembled watches with an automatic movement (the particular model reviewed happens to be sold out at post time, but they have lots of other options, including a new mid-sized 39mm option.)

J. Crew Factory: 50% off + Extra 20% off $100+ w/ BLACKFRIDAY

Entire site is at least 50% off, and the extra 20% off $100+ helps quite a bit if you’re getting a blazer, a topcoat, or multiple items that would trip that balance. Watch out for final sale stuff. There’s an odd amount of it on their site right now. Anything tagged as final sale can’t be returned or exchanged.

Amazon: Totally random Black Friday Deals

Nobody knows how to mix it up get weird like Amazon for a big sale week or weekend. And that couch. That. Couch. Looks like a helluva stylish couch for just north of $1100 when you tap/click the little “save $400” coupon box. And it ships free via Prime as well. They’ll call to set up a time to deliver it. No “white glove” delivery though. They’ll get it to your door and then it’s up to you and whatever help you can scare up. UPDATE: Looks like that extra $400 off coupon code on the couch has expired/disappeared. Dang.

Oak Street Bootmakers: Up to 30% off select items

Incredible materials, brilliant construction, and made in the USA. And yes that goes for their knit watchcaps and scarves as well. Those hats and scarves are even made on a “Vintage Loom Used for Decades to Fulfill Official Contracts for the U.S. Military & NATO Allies.” For the buy-less-buy-better crowd.

Bonobos: 30% off select w/ BFCM30

Usual exclusions seem to apply: “Excludes Empire Super 150s Suits, The Bowery Leather Bomber, The Suede Bomber Jacket, and Icon Status styles of The Original Chino, The Chino 2.0, and Stretch Weekday Warrior Dress Pants.” Also be aware that there have been some scattered reports of Bonobos customer service struggling in the last couple of months. Maybe they’ve righted the ship, but their legendary customer service “ninjas” may have gone the way of the dodo as they try to emerge from bankruptcy.

Randolph: Up to $100 off USA Made Sunglasses + additional $25 off w/ BLACKFRIDAY25

That BLACKFRIDAY25 code just launched. Nice little extra cherry on top of the original deal. Now, if you’re the type who breaks or loses sunglasses frequently, then cover your eyes. Because these stylish eye-covers, even on sale, will make your pupils pop. But boy are they something.

Taylor Stitch: 20% off select + new Final Sale “Last Call” items

A rare sale from Taylor Stitch. Anything tagged as “last call” (like the suede duffel) is final sale and can’t be returned or exchanged. BUT! If it’s not, then it should ship AND return for free.

Spier & Mackay: Up to 20% off select

Key words are “up to.” Not everything is getting the full 20% off. Some of it is 15% off, some of it is 10% off. But being that Spier is already high value for the dollar, any sort of discount is “something.” Especially on those chunky merino shawl collar cardigans. Size shown above for the sweater is a medium on 5’10” 185, whereas the suit is a 40R on the same frame.

lululemon: Black Friday Specials are live

These’ll move fast. They always do. It’s a real mish-mash this year (read: not as good as the last couple of black Fridays) but still worth a scroll if you appreciate lululemon’s (frankly incredible) gear. Appears to be almost all final sale though. So no returns or exchanges, unless you’re a rewards club member and then you can return in-store for credit only.

Crown & Buckle Black Friday Savings Sale

Crown & Buckle’s NATO straps are a step above. They get mentioned all the time, and deservedly so. They almost never do sales. And to see some of their bestsellers getting a few bucks off for the big Black Friday – Cyber Week push is quite nice.

Banana Republic: 40% off (including cashmere)

As generous an offer BR does all year long. This time they’re even including cashmere. Usually cashmere and cashmere blends are excluded. Now that that stuff is included, there’s some fun holiday splurges in there (like those Italian wool/cashmere donegal scarves). If you want some outfit ideas for this stuff, you can see a 1 Sale 5 Outfits post here. 40% off is scheduled to run all week, so you’ve got to think they’ve got something planned (probably similar) for Cyber Monday.

Old Navy: 50% off sitewide

Works on more than just pants, but those Tech Hybrid 5-pockets are as close as one will find to lululemon’s ABC warpstreme pants for a truly affordable price. Check out the side by side. Fabric is awfully close, but  no gusset. And when it comes to the stretch chinos… they are what you think they are. 98% cotton/2% stretch in all the colors you could ever want and a multitude of fits.

TheTieBar: 20% off almost everything

No code needed. Discount gets automatically applied at checkout. Those Italian wool ties (fabric from Vitale Barberis Canonico no less) sure do look all kinds of cold-weather-great.

Ledbury: 35% off through Friday (30% off Sat & Sun)

As deep a discount Ledbury will run all year. Their flagship MTO non-iron, the Sanders, gets a lot of pub on this site and for good reason. Ledbury’s Made To Order (MTO) program allows you to pick from four different fit templates, neck and sleeve sizing that provides sleeve length options down to the half inch, and you get to pick one of six(!) collar styles. For those who want versatility, go with their mid-spread-dress option. The Ledbury Mid Spread collar is known as one of if not the best in the business. Looks great dressed up with a tie, but also excels when worn without a tie thanks to the combination of good structure and their famously slightly lowered second button. Shipping isn’t free (it’s $15 since they ship direct from the factory overseas,) and delivery will take 2-3 weeks as they make the shirt once the order comes in.

Brooks Brothers: 37% off for members (30% off for everyone else)

No Brooks Bros. branded credit card needed for the members 30% + additional 10% off (37% off total.) All you have to do is either sign up with an email/create a password, or log in if you already have a rewards account on their site. Prices above reflect the members price as that’s not too big of a hoop to jump through.

RE Those chukkas, our shoe expert Adam is working on a full review and here’s his quick take on the suede version: Pretty decent entry level boots. The upper suede is nice enough to get the job done, a Vibram sudded Dainite-like sole keeps things on the pavement, the assembly/construction look solid, and at the right price, these are a winner for budget dress chukkas as they’re more formal leaning than something overly chunky or casual. Sizing runs small – I suggest trying a half-size up from your usual Brannock measurement. Made in China. Personally, I’d put these at a ~$250 valuation. Better than fast fashion, but a step down from brands like Sanders, Grant Stone, and Allen Edmonds.

Allen Edmonds: Select Black Friday Specials

Now updated with some more models. But Fifth Avenue Oxfords for under $200 are truly a steal-alert-worthy deal. $199 for either the classic leather sole, or the ready-for-weather studded rubber sole. Handcrafted in Wisconsin. Goodyear welted. Recraftable. And they ship and return for free.

adidas: Black Friday Deals

If you’re a fan of the brand with three stripes, have at it. As a former long-time/somewhat overly experienced outdoorsy type, I understand that hiking sneakers should not be confused with true hiking boots. But those Terrex Free Hiker 2.0 Gore Tex hikers are super comfortable, are lined in Gore-Tex to keep water out, and make a great companion on a lonnnnng day which will be spent both on pavement and off. I wouldn’t go backpacking in them, but for a day where you’ve got a million things to do and none of them are physically easy? They’re pretty good for that. (No steel safety toe though, obviously.)

GAP: 55% off most w/ FRIDAY | 60% off select “really big deals”

Two separate things going on. First is now 50% off most of their site + an additional 10% off with the code FRIDAY (which works out to 55% off total.) Second would be a separate section of Black Friday specials that are 60% off, no code needed. Includes their classic OCBDs.

Bespoke Post: Black Friday Event is on

Good gracious the shop at Bespoke Post is all kinds of fun right now. Kudos to them and those who assemble it. No membership necessary. These are individual goods, marked down for the Black Friday corridor. They had an early preview event last week but a LOT has just been added.

L.L. Bean: 15% off most everything w/ GIFT15

Runs allll the bloomin’ way through Tuesday December 3rd. LL Bean doesn’t do perpetual promos or codes, so to get any sort of discount on their USA made classic Bean Boots is worth a mention.

RE Bean Boot Sizing: Here’s a few tips from our in-person review:

Sizing is a bit wonky and can be confusing:

  • With light or midweight socks: Whole sizes, order one size down. Half sizes, order size down. (Example: 9 or 9½, order a size 8)
  • With heavyweight socks: Whole sizes, order your normal size. Half sizes, order one size down. (Example: 9 or 9½, order a size 9.)

DSW: 30% off w/ BLACKFRIDAY30

There are (many) exclusions of course, but it seems to work on full price and shoes that are already on  sale (like those Anthony Veer chukkas). Code BLACKFRIDAY30 runs through Friday.

Rhone: 25% off or 30% off $300+

It’s one of the rare times of the year that Rhone will toss a discount “bone” our way and you don’t have to buy in bulk if you don’t want to. Should be exclusion free. Commuter shirts, polos, all of it.

Sunski: 35% off all sunglasses

Biggest sale of the year for these folks. Includes their premium line as well. Know that free shipping kicks in at $75, so that kinda stinks, as the 35% off drops the premium line under that free shipping threshold.

Madewell: 40% – 50% off w/ MADEBETTER

The pick: The Roebling Two-Button Blazer in Italian Wool-Blend Fabric – $196.80 ($328)

Exclusions apply of course, but those Italian fabric blazers are included. They also claim the body length is 31″. That should indicate they’re NOT chopped, which is good for those of us with long torsos and those who are on the average to taller side (or just prefer a more classically styled sportcoat). No personal experience with these though.

Nike: 30% off select w/ BFRIDAY

Clothes too. Not just shoes. So if you need to gear up for cold weather outdoor workouts, now’s maybe not a bad time if you’re a fan of Nike stuff. Winter can be a slog for those of us who workout outside. A little bit of new, well performing gear made for the elements can go a long way.

Timex: 30% off select w/ BLACKFRIDAY30

Seems to exclude their new (and awesome looking) deep water reef collection. But some bestsellers included all the same.

Rancourt: 30% off select styles w/ Cheer30

Excludes stuff already on sale, cordovan items, and select new styles. But there’s a lot that’s getting a hefty-for-them 30% off. Made in Maine of course. Sizes are moving pretty quick.

Billy Reid: 20% off $400, 30% off $800, and 40% off $1200

The combo:

It’s the one(?) time of the year one can save quite a bit on the iconic Bond peacoat. Made in Italy, calfskin leather under the collar, horn buttons… the works. It’s something. Protip for the Peacoat: Make sure you get something less expensive to trigger that 30% off at $800 threshold. The Bond Peacoat is priced at just two bucks under. So if you keep that secondary “something” on the less-expensive side, you could actually pay less than if you hadn’t thrown that mathematical “cherry” on top of the coat. For example, 20% off the Bond peacoat would land it at $638.40. So if you get the (almost $6o!!) bandana, you’ll actually pay $39.20 less than if you hadn’t.

Todd Snyder: 30% off w/ BLACKFRIDAY30

Works on select 3rd party too. Red Wing is up for the 30% off. That’s a surprise. Alden is excluded. That is not a surprise.

Grant Stone: 20% off orders of $400+

The combo pick(s) (to trip the $400 balance):

Yes you can add something small (like shoe care) from their accessories department to trip that $400 threshold. No code needed. Also worth noting is that it works on stuff that’s already on sale too.

Charles Tyrwhitt: 4 shirts/$179, 25% off everything else

Yes Charles Tyrwhitt is known for their affordable/constantly on sale shirts. But if you’ve ever been curious about trying their sportcoats, shoes, or sweaters… now’s a pretty good time. Just remember that shipping is expensive as they send this stuff from the U.K.

Macy’s: Select Black Friday Watch Deals

Exclusions are what you’d think they are. Translation: No Hamiltons in this sale. *kicks rocks*
