Hello readers,
Six years ago I started writing the Ask A Woman column, without any idea of what it might turn out to be. It started as strictly style advice for men, but since then has morphed into an anything-goes column where men (and women) can ask whatever they like. Your questions have run the gamut from cleaning your home to meeting women to vanity license plates to meeting women to decorating your home to meeting women to hairstyles to–Lord have mercy–dating women while still being married. It’s been a wild ride, one I’ve enjoyed immensely. But more importantly, I hope I’ve helped some of you. I hope this has felt like a place you could come to and feel a connection to other Dappered community members. I hope there’s been at least one time you read someone else’s question and thought, finally, someone else feels the way I do. And I hope my answers provided guidance or comfort, or at the very least, entertainment.
So, it’s sad for me to announce that this will be my last week writing. After six years, the well of creativity for advice-giving has run dry and it’s simply time to move on. I’ve learned so much while tackling this column–the art of brevity, the importance of inclusion and diversity, the virtues of diplomacy when talking about sensitive topics. I’m taking all of it with me as I continue to write (though not in the public domain at this time), and looking forward to whatever adventures lie ahead.
Bye fellas… (image credit)
I’m not sure what will fill this space every week from here on out, but you can bet it will be fun, helpful and reliably good content. For all the good memories over these six years, I thank each of you, and I wish you all the best.
