The Best Labor Day Sales for Men – Bonobos 25% off, Sunski 25% off, Todd Snyder, & More

This post will be updated over the next few days as more sales roll in. Got a tip on a good sale? Those are always welcome: joe@dappered.com

J. Crew: Extra 60% off Final Sale items w/ WEEKEND

Scheduled to end Tuesday. This just got bumped up to an extra 60% off heading into the weekend, and it looks like there’s some new items in there too. Not a ton of newness, but some. Maybe they’ll add more as the weekend rolls on. That’s what Labor Day is: a real end-of-season clearance, so shorts for $16ish is what you’ll see. Items getting this additional 60% off with WEEKEND are all final sale. No returns or exchanges.

J. Crew Part Deux: $20 off Stretch Chinos = $69.50 ($89.50)

Scheduled to end Tuesday. A separate deal, also at J. Crew, and worth a mention because of the many fans their flagship chinos have. NOT final sale. So these can be returned or exchanged if need be. Twenty bucks off is nothing to sneeze at. These things rarely go on sale because they simply don’t have to put them on sale. Again, they’ve got fans. You may or may not be one of those fans. And that’s A-OK either way. Slim, straight, or athletic tapered fits. All the colors you’d expect and then some.

adidas: 35% off select w/ BIGDEAL

Scheduled to end Tuesday. No log in / membership required. Should be good to go for everyone. Select styles only.

BR Factory: 50%-70% off + additional 25% off

Scheduled to end Tuesday. UPDATE: They just bumped this up to an additional 25% off from 20% off over the weekend. The affordable and sale-happy brother to mainline Banana Republic seems to have stepped their game up. Lots of goods falling into dark-and-handsome territory. Full original picks can be found in this post here.

Amazon: New items added to their Labor Day Weekend deals (the clothes/accessories)

Nobody does random quite like Amazon during a big retail push. Probably best to check your order history/”buy again” section and see if anything you get with some regularity from Uncle Jeff’s Andy’s Internet Emporium is on sale. Scheduled to end Tuesday.

Amazon: New Labor Day Deals (the watches)

And a couple of watches worth a mention.

Oak Street Bootmakers: Up to 30% off Storewide Labor Day Sale

Oak Street Bootmakers clearly know what they’re doing. And there’s more in there than “just” boots. Loafers, some bluchers, belts and more.

Brooks Brothers: Extra 25% off sale items

Ends Wednesday. Now with a few coats and jackets as autumn is fast approaching.

Nike Members: 20% off select w/ WINBIG

You’ll have to sign in but there’s some newer stuff getting that 20% off cut. It jumps to 25% off if you want to download their app and have that living on your phone.

Suitsupply New $499 All Season Perennial Suits

No sale because Suitsupply doesn’t do sales (RIP Suitsupply online outlet) but their latest collection just launched and within are these all-season Italian wool suits from their less-expensive $499 “Perennial” line. Suitsupply has quietly evolved these last few years. Gone is the exasperating attempts at shock marketing. They’ve got a quieter, classed-up image now. And they even seem to have expanded some of their fits from the painted-on-days of the pre-pandemic days. Everything ships and returns for free with them too.

Nordstrom: Their Summer Sale is Live

This feels like it’s both partially a true summer clearance, and it’s also a second crack at some of their big Anniversary Sale stuff. So, better than the normal post-season clearance sales you’d typically see at Nordstrom. And (*say it with me*)… everything ships and returns for free.

Bonobos: 25% off select w/ BYEBYEBYE

The Pick: Solid Unconstructed Italian Hopsack Wool Blazers – $300 ($400)

Scheduled to end Tuesday. Always worth a mention when the famed Bonobos unconstructed Italian Hopsack Wool blazers go on sale. Full review here. Overall the sale has lots of exclusions, but that’s not so unusual. Some of the exclusions are: Italian Brushed 5-Pocket Pants,  Gramercy Premium Jeans, Jetsetter Knit Blazers, Jetsetter Wool Blazers, AND Icon Status styles of: The Original Chino, The Chino 2.0, Weekday Warrior Dress Pants, Jetsetter Wool Blazers, Jetsetter Wool Dress Pants. Full list of exclusions can be found here.

Grant Stone: additional 20% off sale styles w/ LABORDAY20

Picks above should not be final sale. There is some final sale stuff in different sections (B-Grades / Sample Sale stuff) so if you drift over in that direction, be warned that anything tagged as final can’t be returned.

J. Crew: Labor Day Event

Scheduled to end Tuesday. This is their full priced stuff (not final sale) getting scattered discounts. Because J. Crew always has at least three things going on at once. Positioned as a “40% off sitewide!” event, it’s really more scattered discounts (including some 40% off stuff) across much of their catalog. Full picks here if you’re interested.

Todd Snyder: Select Randolph Sunglasses extra 30% off w/ SALE30

On sale and getting an additional 30% off with that SALE30 code. Doesn’t appear these are final sale yet either. Do know that the Randolph x Todd Snyder collab options come with some TODD SNYDER branding on the bayonet style temple pieces. Not all of their stock has that, but it’s still worth a mention.

Huckberry: additional 15% off sale items + some new items added

Looks like Huckberry has thrown some new goods into their sale section… all of which are getting an additional 15% off at checkout. Full original picks can be found here.

Orient Watch USA: 10% off w/ LBD10

The Pick: Bambino Version 2 Small Seconds 38.4mm – $252 ($280) review here

Should work on everything or thereabouts. Nice to see the new V2 38mm small seconds hitting the US e-commerce site and then going up for some sales after its recent arrival.

Banana Republic: Extra 20% off sale items

Their sale section is looking pretty decent right now. Watch out for final sale items. It’s a mix of regular sale (which can be returned) and final sale. No returns or exchanges on final sale stuff. Pleasantly surprised that Marzotto Cotton/Wool tweed Havana fabric sportcoat isn’t final sale yet. That could be a winner.

TheTieBar: Up to 80% off Labor Day Sale

Thirty three dollars?? Final sale, no returns or exchanges on any of this stuff. Wow they want those cotton blazers gone. Sizes 36, 38, 40, and 42 left at post time.

Target: 20% off select T-shirts and Jeans

The already affordable gets a little bit cheaper. Looks like Target has almost completely shifted from slim jeans to straight and athletic fits, with a few exceptions. The 90s. They’re back, and they’re back with a vengeance. (It’ll be a miracle of Noel doesn’t lose his patience and throttle Liam into oblivion before they even get close to the very first show.)

Gustin: Labor Day Surplus Stock Sale

As one of the originators of the pre-order/crowd sourced e-commerce model, it’s rare when Gustin has stock. It’s even rarer when their stock goes on sale.

J. Crew FACTORY: 50% – 70% off + extra 20% off $125+ w/ LABORDAY

The Pick: Wool Blend University Blazer – $159.20 w/ LABORDAY ($240ish)

JCF is J. Crew’s more affordable, step-down brand. It’s less expensive than mainline J. Crew, so hitting that $125 price point for the additional 20% off could be tough, but not when it comes to their surprisingly good wool-blend navy blazer. Full review here if you’d like it.

UPDATE: Their site is now saying that some sizes in the University Blazer are pre-ordering for October 6th. Blast. That stinks. Some sizes are in stock at post time, but that could change.

Randolph USA: Up to 40% off

Attention those who like to splurge on eyewear… Randolph is having a solid sale. Many of us will stick to our Sunskis or Amazon purchased cheapies, but if you’re the type who values well made sunglasses, here they be. Made in the USA. Heritage brand. Great quality. Doesn’t go on sale much at all. Select styles of course.

WP Standard: 20% off sitewide

The Pick: The Woodward Briefcase – $278.40 ($348)

No code needed. Discount happens at checkout. They just restocked their Woodward briefcase in chocolate brown (shown above.) So having a sale land right after that = extra nice. Full review here (in the tan color) if you’re interested.

Spier & Mackay: Extra 20% off select w/ new markdowns

The Pick: Tropical Wool High-Twist Trousers – $86.40

Fabric is from famed Italian mill Vitale Barberis Canonico. Wool is the king of all fabrics. It breathes like crazy, regulates temperature, and has anti-microbial properties. That all makes for a perfect pair of pants in not just the warmest months, but year-round. Tropical wool is the exact opposite of the shaggy winter sweaters you wear on the coldest of days. This is a lean, mean, lightweight, crisp wool that almost feels cool to the touch. Great for those of us that run a little warm and like to dress up.

REI: 25% off select Darn Tough Socks

It’d be a massive understatement to say we’re fans of Darn Tough’s merino blend socks. Made in Vermont, guaranteed for life, and are designed in so many models for so many different activities (including just daily casual or even dress wear). They’re also exceedingly difficult to find on sale. So yes. Live look at the Dappered offices at present.

REI: Up to 40% off Labor Day sale

And a few other picks for the rest of the gear. Because it’s clearly more than “just” the Darn Tough socks.

Sunski: 25% off sitewide

Includes their premium line as well. Which is nice because Sunski is pretty mid-priced, therefor their “premium” line doesn’t gash the wallet like a designer frame would. Know that free shipping kicks in at $75, so that kinda stinks, as all of their premium line models are priced at $98, and the 25% off drops them just under that free shipping threshold.

Timex: 25% off select w/ SUNSET25

The Pick: Timex Marlin 40mm automatic – $194.25 ($259)

Timex had been running a “sale’s on sale” deal for a little while now, but selection was so paltry that it wasn’t even worth mentioning. Thankfully they’ve added some new items, including the automatic-movement-powered Timex Marlin 40mm shown above.

Rhone: Commuter Shirt Three Packs are 30% off

Two packs are 25% off. Three packs are 30% off. That’s a lot of money all the same, and you have to buy in bulk, but these shirts set the standard a few years back (and have held onto said standard) in terms of comfort and stretch and wicking and all that. Hidden button down collars too. Just know that they aren’t suuuper “dressy.” They lean more towards casual to smart casual. They can be dressed up with a blazer or sportcoat, but visually they’re halfway between a true dress shirt and an OCBD. As comfortable as it gets though. Normally $138(!!) per shirt, the 3 packs drop them to $96.60 per. So yeah. Still an investment.

Old Navy: Tech Chino Shorts – $19.97 ($39.99)

Yes, it’s “those” shorts. On clearance. Because we’re headed fast towards fall. Shorts go on sale this time of year, every year. Yet it’s still boiling in some parts of the hemisphere. Full review here.

Todd Snyder: Extra 30% off sale items w/ SALE30

Watch out for final sale stuff. There’s a good amount of final sale items in their sale section at post time. Anything tagged as such can’t be returned or exchanged. And holy snack-crackers Todd Synder stuff continues to be spendy even on sale. But he’s one of those designers that really hangs his (expensive) hat on contemporary design and great quality.

Charles Tyrwhitt: 4 Shirts or Polos for $199, 25% off just about everything

No code or anything. Prices are as marked. And an obligatory reminder that shipping is steep at Charles Tyrwhitt, as stuff still ships from the UK. Also remember that returns are pricey too, as the (expensive) outbound shipping is non-refundable, and returns will set you back a $9.95 pre-paid label.

Also worth a mention:

NOTE: This post will be updated through the long weekend.
