Long Weekend Men’s Style Sales Roundup – November 2023

Editor’s Note: In the past we used to sit “Veterans Day” sales out. The term just sounds odd, much like Memorial Day sales. But after hearing from a few Vets, it turns out that silence was misplaced. Word is even stores on Military bases have Veterans Day sales, so while much of the world sees November 11th (and the observance around it) as a solemn occasion, here in the States it’s different. Our policy on keeping quiet on Memorial Day won’t change, but for Veterans day, we’ve been given the green light from the segment of the readership who have served. And if you’re feeling grateful for all that Veterans and their families do and have done, consider reallocating some of that style budget by way of making a donation to the USO, the EOD Warrior FoundationSpecial Ops Warrior Fund, or another organization dedicated to helping our veterans.

J. Crew: up to 60% off “early holiday deals”

SUNDAY UPDATE: Wasn’t expecting them to bump it up a bit. Cords are now 60% off. Bowery wool dress pants are now under sixty bucks. Prices are as marked. No code needed for this one.

Huckberry: 20% off for U.S. Veterans, Active Military, and Military Families (11/9-11/12)

Details here. Verification will be through ID.me. It’s always really cool to see Huckberry double their normally 10% off military discount during this period. There are some exclusions (as some products they carry are never/can’t be included in promos as directed by some brands). Unfortunately, the waxed truckers from Flint and Tinder are one of those exclusions.

Kohl’s: Extra 20% off w/ SAVEBIG20 + $10 off w/ TAKE10

Two codes. You have to stack both SAVEBIG20 and TAKE10. But once you do, it drops the Seiko 5 Sports dive style, as well as their popular GMT Diver to price points they haven’t seen in a year or more. Haven’t seen $213 for the 5 Sports Diver, anywhere, for a good stretch now. Find a review of the 5 Sports dive style here, and find a review of the GMT here.

Nike: members get 25% off select w/ ACCESS

Sunday Update: Not quite the same as the offer they had been running. Still have to be logged in, it’s still 25% off (or an extra 25% off if the item was already on sale…) but it’s slightly different stock.

Banana Republic FACTORY: 57.5% off (expires 11/13)

Whereas Banana Republic mainline has ended their 40% off, it does appear that BR Factory is going to roll their 50% off + additional 15% off promo clear through Monday. A reminder that BR and BR Factory aren’t the same quality. Factory is a step down, and thus their constant sales and lower price points. But there can be real hits. Just make sure you go in with your expectations not as high as they could be. Deal is 50% off, prices are as marked, and then an additional 15% that on-sale price gets knocked off at checkout.

Brooks Brothers: 40% 30% off + free shipping

Sunday update: The 40% off expired yesterday (Saturday) but they’re still running 30% off for those a little late to the party. Not as good as yesterday, but still not bad.

As good as it gets for Brooks Brothers. No required multi-buys, tiers, etc. 40% off across (most of) the board. Exclusions apply of course. 40% off won’t apply to 3rd party (like their Rancourt shoes) or to clearance items. So no double-dipping in the sale section on this one. 40% off deal is set to expire Saturday.

Spier & Mackay: Up to $65 off select sportcoats

OOOH. That’ll do. Especially the charcoal option. That particular sportcoat has been used quite a bit recently.

Nordstrom Rack: additional 25% off FINAL sale clearance

No returns or exchanges. Sizes are scattered at best for sized items, as this is the very, very, very end of the line for this stuff. There are also exclusions. Yes really. There are exclusions on final red tag clearance at Nordstrom Rack. Wild.

L.L. Bean: 10% off most everything w/ SAVE10

LL Bean doesn’t do perpetual promos or codes, so to get any sort of discount on their USA made classic Bean Boots is worth a mention. Same goes for their awesomely-priced USA made essential belts.

RE Bean Boot Sizing: Here’s a few tips from our guy Jason from his review:

Sizing is a bit wonky and can be confusing:

  • With light or midweight socks: Whole sizes, order one size down. Half sizes, order size down. (Example: 9 or 9½, order a size 8)
  • With heavyweight socks: Whole sizes, order your normal size. Half sizes, order one size down. (Example: 9 or 9½, order a size 9.)

WP Standard: 15% off w/ EARLY15

Wasn’t this scheduled to end Thursday? Looks like they’ve got a ticker on their site that says this early-black-Friday code EARLY15 now runs though Monday. Even the smaller brands are getting out in front of the rush this year. The leather WP Standard uses really is a step above. They know their stuff, they carefully select their stuff, and the end result is… pretty amazing stuff. And their prices are moderate, yet still reflect the quality piece that you’re buying. They don’t run sales often either. Head here for a full review of that briefcase.

Spier and Mackay: New Blake Stitched and Goodyear Welted Shoes coming in

No sale or promo on these, but their shoes are like their suits and blazer… lots of value for the money. Lots. And they don’t run many sales.

Spier has been all but sold out of their excellent Blake Stitched shoes for a while, and it’s good to see that at least some styles and colors are coming back into stock. Still waiting on those dark brown oxfords though. Black is back, as are many other shades of brown, but dark brown hasn’t been restocked quite yet. Also worth noting is their upgraded Goodyear Welted collection that’s made in Portugal, and uses full grain box calf leather from the German tannery Weinheimer.

Kent Wang: Deerskin Gloves are back in stock – $95

No sale, but Kent Wang seems to only put something on sale if they’re discontinuing it. And every year these gloves sell so well that they’d be crazier than a box of frogs to cut these from their catalog. Four options, two of which are touch-screen compatible, two of which are standard. And unlike almost all other touchscreen gloves that have a little nubbin of tech-friendly whats-its on the index fingers, Kent Wang’s touchscreen gloves have (calf-skin) palms that have been “treated with nanotechnology to be responsive to touchscreen devices, such as phones and tablets. This treatment will never wear off, unlike spray-on treatments other makers use.” … Nifty.
