GETSHOPPING = 40% off Sale, 50% off Final Sale
There’s a new J. Crew sale today, and is it just me, but does the kangaroo not look like it’s made out of butter? I CAN’T UNSEE THIS!

Antoine Vollon’s “Mound of Butter“
The Sales Tripod Mascot’s “brother”. He really likes butter.
And Eric H. wins the day. So many questions. Is it really butter? And if it is, why a butter sculpture of a kangaroo? Was it done by the Australian Dairy Council? If so, was it a gift to Menswear director Frank Muytjens? But isn’t he Dutch? Did the Dutch asked the Aussies for help in their attempt to produce a butter that doesn’t spatter while frying, and Muytjens brokered the collaboration? Can we expect to see this Churned x J. Crew collab in the fall, served during New York Fashion week on J. Crew’s ceramic trays?
Code GETSHOPPING expires today, and is good for 40% off sale items, and 50% off final sale items. On with the picks…
Ludlow Club Blazer in Super 130s Navy Wool – $159.99 FINAL? ($425)
Been forever and a day since the navy wool club blazers were on sale and up for an extra 30% or 40% off code. And these are 50% off. With that extra 50% off, they dip to $160. Sure, they got the brass buttons which not everyone loves, but those are easy enough to replace. And at $159.99, it’ll be tough to find a better fabric. Same goes for the fit, as long as the slim ludlow fits you decently enough. Fully lined. Double vent in the rear. The “final sale” verbiage doesn’t pop up on these, but since the code knocks 50% off instead of 40%, best to assume that it’s final sale? Quite a few sizes left at post time. UPDATE: Whoa. Those went fast. It was either a rush on stock, or, there was a glitch concerning what sizes were available. All but gone now. UPDATE II: Annnnnnd they’re back. Looks like “SHOPNOW” is the code you need now (Thursday) to knock the extra 50% off… thanks to Michael Z for the tip!
Traveler Dress Shirt in Baltic Check | Grey Windowpane – $49.80 ($88)
Still fifty bucks after the discount, but maybe it’s time to take their “traveler” shirts for a spin. It’s a wrinkle resistant 2-ply fabric (pretty sure it’s not dipped in some non-iron finish like other non-irons), that’s meant to tandem up with their traveler suits. Perfect patterns on these two as well.
Kenton Goodyear Welted Suede Penny Loafers – $115.80 ($198)
A warm weather shoe that’s easy to dress up or down. Three shades to pick from. Great price.
Ludlow Traveler Suit Jacket & Slim Pant – $408 ($660)
A Ludlow in a versatile grey, now down to Suitsupply-blue-line-like levels of pricing. Plus, unlike Suitsupply, the sleeve buttons are non-functioning. Much easier to tailor those. Only partially lined through the back, so if you like less lining, these are worth a shot. Doesn’t appear to be final sale yet.
Ludlow Suede Goodyear Welted Boots – $179.99 ($399)
Still out of season. Still not final sale. Still really, really tempting. Full review here.
Secret Wash Tattersall Button Down – $35.70 | Med. Stripe – $19.99 FINAL
Relaxed fabric, laid back structure, and button down collars. The shirts you get a ton of use out of year round, and will use especially in warmer weather. The blue tattersall isn’t final sale, but the (much) cheaper medium stripe is.
Ludlow Sportcoat in Italian Cotton – $130.80 ($218)
The blue gets much, much more play. But this “vintage linen” (even though it’s Italian cotton) option is getting down to a price point where it’s tough to pass up. Still not final sale. Yet.
Italian Leather Made in the USA Roller Buckle Belt – $26.99 ($55)
Bit of a hybrid here. Dress-style width to the belt (just an inch) with a more traditionally casual buckle style. Should do just fine with dark wash denim and a casual sportcoat.
Kenton Goodyear Welted Suede Bucks – $115.80 ($198)
About as low in price as these slimmer-than-most bucks tend to go. Goodyear welted too. Multiple shades to pick from. Review here.
SLIM Chambray Shirt in Horiz. Stripe – $23.99 ($79.50)
Those stripes = a little different. But are they crazy? Unwearable? Nah. Something to wear with white or off-white 5-pockets and suede loafers this summer.
Abingdon Two-tone Waxed Cotton Weekender – $84.99 FINAL ($210)
17 1/2″H x 26″W x 9 1/4″D dimensions = 4370 cubic inches. That’s a lot bigger than most of the smaller leaning (2oooish cubic inches) weekenders that get produced these days.
Lightweight Italian Merino Crewneck – $41.99 ($118)
Perfect after a summer-sundown layering. The retail price, $118(!), is pretty friggin’ steep. $42 doesn’t seem half bad. The kind of sweater that looks good with shorts or lightweight chinos. Pretty much a long sleeve t-shirt that’s made from merino wool.
Broadmoor Quilted Vest w/ Primaloft – $71.99 ($148)
It’s only half-way through May. Some of us are already looking forward to fall. And we are morons.
The Extra 40% off sale styles & extra 50% off Final Sale styles code GETSHOPPING is set to expire today, 5/13/15. Now if you’ll excuse me, that sculpture butter ain’t gonna churn itself…
