Take 30% off Bonobos sale with code FIRSTMATE or SALEBOAT
*Looks like their email list got the “FIRSTMATE” code, while “SALEBOAT” is being lightly promoted on their website. Codes expire 7/27. Maybe they threw two out there for tracking purposes?
A week after Bonobos tried to thin the herd of summer sale items with a 20% off for Facebook Fans offer, they’ve now opened it up to everybody with an extra 30% off items in their sale section. Use the code FIRSTMATE or SALEBOAT to get the discount. Been awhile since Bonobos ran a sale like this. It’s these extra % off sales that get their otherwise expensive stuff down to a price range that’s affordable for almost everyone. Remember when they were perpetually running codes and/or Groupons? Right. Those days are long gone.
Some decent sizes on some good items left too. And being that this is Bonobos, stuff tends to go real fast (thus the “breaking news” title). Items below have at least a somewhat decent size range. For now.
.
Game Day Chinos in Grey – $40.60 ($88)
Heavier, more durable feeling cotton than the washed chinos, in a hugely versatile wear it all year (yes even in Winter) pale grey. Terrific price. Sizes are a bit all over the place, but remember you can try to get them hemmed if you’re a size off on the inseam.
Little Pantchovies Chambray Shorts – $38.50 ($88)
There are but a few rules worth living by. #1. Never stop jug blowin‘ in the middle of a hoedown, and #2. Never pay full price for shorts with fish on them*. But when a summer has been this hot, and your two or three pairs you have in rotation are getting awfully boring, maybe these would be a wildcard worth throwing in the mix. *And yes, fully understand many of you subscribe to life rule #3. Never by shorts with fish on them. Or any clothing for that matter.
Bonobos Blue Seersucker Suit Jacket & Matching Pant – $186.20 ($408)
The Derby might be a distant memory (remember how “I’ll have another“… didn’t?) but if you’ve been looking to get a seersucker suit for the rest of this summer and future summers, you’d be hard pressed to find a better traditional blue seersucker suit than this for under $200. Unfortunate that sizes are in real short supply for the grey version.
High Tides 5″ Swim Trunk – $25.20 ($65)
Incredible price for a pair of really good looking swimtrunks. Just really hard to pull off if you’re super pale. But they’ve got lots of other trunks on sale right now.
The Handover Rugby in Navy or Green – $33.60 ($92)
Nothing kills a good rugby shirt like a gigantic obnoxious logo, a too bulky fit, or both. Comes in Bonobos sizing, so like their button up shirts these should be far from enormous but not super tight either. Great price, free shipping/returns, etc… Major hoodie upgrade.
The Ties: Personality Wool/Cashmere Stripe | Earnest Alexander Pinstripe – $52.50 ($150)
For the guys who wear ties a lot, and appreciate a really well made tie. Personality Milano ties are excellent. Made in Italy from 60% wool and 40% cashmere. The Earnest Alexander Pinstripe is made in the USA from wool & silk.
Grenson Suede Wingtip – $187.95 ($358)
Grenson has a decent rep. And they better for a retail price of $358. Killer looking pair of out of the norm shoes, but still a neutral color with the usual darker brown sole. No funny business here. Just under $190 seems fair. A warning: limited sizes left, and word is they run big. Big enough that Bonobos suggests you order a FULL size down.
Tretorn Skymra SL canvas – $33.60 ($70)
Looks to be a pretty basic, slim, canvas sneaker from this side of the computer monitor. Description says they’re “blue” which, well, they sure don’t look to be. But hey, Ninja service if they goof it.
Timberland Suede Boat Chukka – $49.00 ($100)
Like a desert boot, only with boat shoe details. So imagine you’re in the middle of a desert, and there’s a dock with some boats tied up to it. You’d naturally slip these on…. and then probably mistake that can of motor oil recently tossed your way for a Tecate, since you’re experiencing one hell of a hallucinogenic mirage situation at that moment. Right? At least your feet will look good.
Will Leather Goods Small Classic Carry All in tan or navy – $39.38 ($75)
Sometimes you just don’t have enough arm space. Good for getting your lunch and other crap into work without fumbling down the block with it. Or, a quick trip to the grocery store bag. 19″x14″x2.4″.
Woolrich 100% cotton waterproof parka – $124.60 ($295)
TRUST THE GORRRRRTON’S FISHHERRRRMANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN
The Bonobos Extra 30% off Sale FIRSTMATE and SALEBOAT expire Friday 7/27/12.
