Old Navy Brushed-Twill Stretch Blazer – $37.45 ($74.94)
Many thanks to Jeremy G. for the style tip on this price drop. Got a tip on a steal, deal, or item worth review? Send those into joe@dappered.com.
Almost totally unlined. A tail that isn’t too chopped. Non functioning, easy to tailor sleeve buttons. And a unique fabric that’s perfect for fall, winter, and early spring.
And it’s under $40?
Now in black and camel, along with the standard “ink blue.”
Old Navy smartly changed the name of this thing from the original “Sateen Blazer” to a more accurate “Brushed-Twill Stretch Blazer.” I’m guessing the word Sateen was scaring a lot of guys off, making them think this thing was borderline reflective.
But it’s not shiny at all. Quite the opposite in fact. It’s more like moleskin. Matte, with a bit of depth to the fabric, but nowhere near the plushness you get with velvet. Think of it as a winterized chino.
No shine. The brushed fabric does pick up lint pretty easily, but that’s expected with this kind of texture.
Hardly any lining to speak of here, so it should breathe reasonably well in case you’re wearing it and the room gets warm. Sizing seems pretty true/standard. Not super skinny, but not bulky either. A medium fits my 5’10” / 185lb frame decently well off the rack.
Honestly, I can’t recall when a blazer, made from non-synthetic materials (this is 98% cotton / 2% spandex), dropped to this price point. It’s labeled as a “today only” deal, so, that price might expire soon (also, that means it should be excluded from the current extra 50% off cardmember code WHYWAIT). But with Black Friday & Cyber Monday coming up, perhaps it’ll end up back down around this level once again? Who knows.
Carry on.
