INTHEFAM = 30% off at East Dane (exp. 4/9/16)
East Dane is an Amazon project. But unlike Amazon, who only recently launched their own fashion brands to try and fill some major gaps in product variety, East Dane has a ton of higher end, designer goods. And along with those higher end brands, they’ve got some more palatabley (not a word) priced goods as well.
Usually their infrequent codes knock somewhere between 20% – 25% off, and often are accompanied by crazy high must-spend thresholds. But not this time. Yes, there are lots of exclusions, including the likes of Filson, Herschel Supply Co., To Boot New York; but if you dodge those? It’s a flat 30% off w/ the code INTHEFAM. Plus, shipping is free and fast, and if you’ve got Amazon Prime, you’ll get it in 2 days. Picks below are limited to items that had at least a decent size selection at post time.
Ray Ban Caravan Gunmetal Frame Sunglasses – $94.50 ($135)
These are tough to find at full price, let alone at a discount. Caravans are usually found with gold frames. Classic? Sure. But if you don’t like the look of gold, then the gunmetal frames w/ green lenses should do the trick. Not a classic aviator with droopy lenses, so they’re cleaner looking.
Cole Haan Cambridge Suede Chukkas – $93.80 ($268)
A less fortunate man’s Loake Kempton. A chukka, but has more structure than a standard desert boot. Plus the sole is easier to dress up since it’s not a textured crepe like a Clark’s desert boot. Made in India, and certainly appears to be a step up in quality from the cheaper shoes CH produces. Already on sale, and the extra 30% off drops em’ under a hundred bucks.
Loake Kempton Suede Chukkas – $252 ($360)
Speaking of the Loake Kempton… NOTE: Sizes listed are UK sizes, so, use the conversion chart provided. These are NOT a cheap desert-boot/chukka. What do you get for all that extra cash? Answers over here. Goodyear welted. Super durable. Color shown here might differ slightly than from the brown shade that East Dane is selling, being that Loake seems to make a few different shades of brown for this chukka. Could be the same though.
Billy Reid Pensacola Polo – $46.55 ($95)
Comparatively pretty spendy, even with the code. Jersey cotton and a four button placket that dips to mid chest. Made in Peru.
J.W. Hulme Co. American Heritage Leather Valet Tray – $66.50 ($95)
Expensive? Yes. Terrific looking? Yes! Made in the USA. And speaking of, if you’re looking for a valet and want to see some pretty darn spectacular leather options, try the Valet Trays from Mitchell Leather Co.
Owen & Fred Briefcase in Midnight or Charcoal – $171.50 ($245)
Made in the USA, waxed canvas, and all for a reasonable price? Not bad at all. 13″ x 16.25″ x 3.25″ dimensions should work for the vast majority. Looks a heck of a lot like something Ernest Alexander would make, only not as expensive.
H&A USA Made Pocket Square in Blue or Black – $11.55 FINAL ($55)
Sure, they’re just squares of fabric with finished edges. But they are made in the USA, and the free shipping is a nice addition for something so cheap. No returns since they’re final sale.
J.W. Hulme Co. American Heritage Leather Portfolio ‘ $556.50 ($795)
By the Hammer of Thor, that is one good looking briefcase. Half a grand even with the 30% off. Made in the USA. 13″ x 16″ x 3″. Does a real nice job balancing city and rustic styles.
Billy Reid Wool Peak Lapel Pea Coat – $340.55 ($695)
Pretty sure this is the Billy Reid “Bond” Peacoat (as in, 007) only in charcoal wool. Chest high hand warmer pockets. Leather under collar. Made in Italy.
Jack Spade Barrow Leather Briefcase – $132.30 ($378)
A SUPER slim, dead simple, leather briefcase from Jack Spade. Price is good for leather, and Jack Spade’s quality, while not insane, is usually decent. That said… there’s always this guy as an alternative (not quite as slim, and the leather is hard to top for the price).
Superga Cotu Classic – $45.50 ($65)
Well look who it is. It can be tough to find these on sale for under $55, so $45.50 plus fast and free shipping is more than welcome. Sturdier than a pair of chucks. Sunglasses not included. Available in white, navy, grey, or black.
Loake 1880 Mitchum Suede Chelsea Boots – $231 ($330)
Again… NOTE: Sizes listed are UK sizes, so, use the conversion chart provided. Made in the UK. Goodyear welted. It’s not boot season anymore, but good gracious these’ll do fantastic before it gets too warm, and then once again in the fall. More on chelseas (and more chelseas) over here. If you’re prefer smooth leather to suede? They’ve got those too.
Brooks England Pants Strap – $13.23 ($27)
A great gift for the stylish bike commuter in your life (even if that person is you). For those who lived through the 80s, these are nothing more than a leather wrapped slap bracelet. BUT… they work, and help keep your pant leg away from the bike chain.
Fisher Space Pen Original Astronaut Space Pen – $33.95 via Amazon ($58)
Point of order here. Sometimes, despite being an Amazon project, East Dane can’t beat Amazon’s prices, even with a sizeable code like this one. For example, the space pen with the code is going for $40.60 on East Dane. But just $34 on Amazon. So it can help to check and price compare before diving in. The Fisher Space Pen can write in extreme temps, at any angle, and looks 238,856 x better than a disposable bic.
Loake 1880 Cannon Monk Strap Shoes – $276.50 ($395)
Made in England and Goodyear welted. Another one of those shoes that you’ll have to use the size conversion chart, since it’s a Loake and they list their sizing in UK sizes.
Faribault Woolen Mills Buffalo Check Throw – $77.00 ($110)
Aw yeah. You thought (you THOUGHT?!?) now that we’re in Spring you’d stop seeing high quality, wool blankets featured on Dappered? OH HOW WRONG YOU WERE! Made in the USA. Al Borland approved pattern. Man up that bed spread.
