NEWNEW = 25% off select + free shipping no min through 11/10
Yes there are exclusions (suits, almost all of their shoe selection), but it’s not as bad as it has been during past promotions. That, and they just had a decent chunk of new arrivals hit their site, much of which are up for the extra 25% off.
Free shipping no minimum also helps, especially if you’re looking to pick up one or two items on the cheap side. And now’s also about the time to acquire a holiday-party-appropriate sportcoat if you’re in the market. Gotta leave time to get it to the tailor, right? Code NEWNEW expires today, as does the free shipping.
Ludlow Blazer in Green Tartan English Wool – $298.50 ($398)
A discount just in time to order it, get it in, and get it to the tailor. Yes, it’s on the loud side and seems designed for Holiday parties… but it’s not so loud that you couldn’t wear it to work or out on the town here and there in the colder months. Moon mills wool. Non-functional buttons at the sleeve cuffs as always.
Onitsuka Tiger Fabre Low Suede Sneakers – $63.75 ($85)
Need some new sneaks for when you’re not in boots during the bad weather? Good for around the house or those rare days when the weather isn’t causing havoc. Plus the free shipping is a big help here. Versatile shade of grey. Not a bad price when you consider that the uppers are suede instead of canvas.
Ludlow Sportcoat in Navy or Grey English Tweed – $223.50 ($298)
One of their blazers that seems to be up for discounts more often than not. Partially unconstructed with a half lined back. Subtle herringbone pattern. Abraham Moon Mill wool/cotton fabric. Patch pockets on the lower half with a welt at the chest. A staple that’s not boring or stiff..
Lambswool Buffalo Plaid Sweater – $73.50 ($98)
Spendy, even with the discount, but that fat Buffalo Plaid is gonna catch a few eyes. And since it ships free through today (11/10) you save the extra five bucks it usually costs to get it from them to you.
Cashmere Scarf in Dot – $88.50 ($118) or Plaid – $73.50 ($98)
For a lot of guys, scarves are like belts. As long as it works, style isn’t overly considered. Unless for the scarves, it’s made from a high quality wool (or in this case, from cashmere) and comes with a simple, subtle pattern. That’d be what we’ve got here. Maybe a good gift for someone on your list, or, yourself? Ships free through today.
Ludlow Shawl Collar Blazer in Blue or “Forrest” Velvet – $246 ($328)
Back on sale, and actually a little better of a deal than the last time they went on sale (during J. Crew’s no exclusions “tiered” event). Kudos to the designers for adding the deep green “forrest” option this year. Single button, shawl collar, real slick looking.
SLIM Lambswool V-Neck – $52.12 ($69.50)
A basic, but lambswool sweaters often come in bulky fits. Not here. Kinda rare to find a lambswool sweater cut this close. Five basic colors to pick from, and the free shipping is extra nice if you’re just picking up one of these things.
Ludlow Sportcoat in Corduroy – $148.50 ($198)
The grey pictured above is last year’s version, but this year’s shade of grey looks virtually identical. And if it is? That’s great news. Same goes for the construction. No back lining and a wale that’s not too wide. One difference this year is that they’re sized in exact chest sizes, instead of the ball park S/M/L sizing. Size shown above is a medium on 5’10” / 175. Full review of last year’s version here. Also available in that shade of brown, but reviews say it’s not a close match to in real life.
Cashmere Chessboard Knit Made in the USA Ties – $67.12 ($89.50)
Not your average tie, say, from TheTieBar. Cashmere, made in the USA, and the knit has a raised, checkerboard pattern to it. Balances the casual but still dressed up thing that seems to happen around the holidays. Perhaps a gift for someone on your list?
Lambswool Fair Isle Cardigan – $103.50 ($138)
How very wintry… without getting too obnoxious. That price though. Ouch.
Textured Lambswool Shawl Collar Cardigan – $111 ($148)
OR… if you’d prefer to not look like a walking Christmas Card, there’s this thing. Nice pattern to it, leather buttons, and a look that won’t appear out of place in, say, September or March. Contrasting cuffs and hem are reminiscent of the long-sold-out boiled wool cardigan.
Lambswool Cable Knit Hat – $29.62 ($39.50)
It’s a classic that all to often gets cranked out in cheap acrylic instead of wool. That’s not the case here. All lambswool in a perfect shade of ivory. Would look terrific up against a navy peacoat. Ships free.
Bowery Slim in Brushed Cotton Moleskin – $73.50 ($98)
Bonobos just released some Moleskin pants as well, but those come in the more casual, jean-like 5-pocket design. These are a little more dressed up, and a lot less expensive. Again, the free shipping through today certainly helps.
Kenton Suede Plain Toe Boots – $171 ($225)
Gone is the apron toe stitching from last year’s model, and the plain toe now looks pretty darn terrific. Yes, the red/salmon sole is still there (they’ve opted for a leather or more tonal rubber sole on many of their other boots) but it sorta kinda works on these elephant-grey boots. Should look terrific with jeans. Goodyear welted.
Single Pleat Trousers in Glen Plaid Wool – $111 ($148)
The larger arse’d fellas might really appreciate these. Single pleats can help eliminate pocket flare on slimmer fitting pants on those with more junk in the ol’ trunk. Expensive, but might be worth a shot if you work in a business casual to more dressed up workplace, and have a hard time finding trousers.
Ludlow Blazer in Moon Mills “Light Hickory” Wool – $261 ($348)
Ludlow fit and partially lined. Camel isn’t just for topcoats. English wool with pick stitching along the lapels and pocket flaps.
Ludlow Blazer in Italian Cotton – $171.00 ($228)
Not a bad way to work in a little extra color into an otherwise dark, wintry wardrobe. Lightly constructed, but not rumply. Really nice Italian Cotton and solid fit off the rack. Works well in warmer months too.
