Jack Erwin Ellis Chelsea – $$$? (launches 9/17)
Uncle Jonathan’s Corn Cob Pipe that’s a great looking suede chelsea (and please pardon the pic quality, it’s blown up from a teaser email that Jack Erwin sent out a few days back). Along with launching a new website, Jack Erwin is starting to roll out, slowly, their new fall collection. Look for a brogue cap toe oxford, a cap-toe blucher boot, and a new plain toe blucher. Rubber sole on these new chelseas too, so you won’t be slipping and sliding once the precipitation returns.
L.E. Tailored Donegal Sportcoat – $174.30 w/ LEAF & 9900 ($249)
Lands’ End has been in a style slump for a while now, but they just might be turning it around. More than a few items in their new fall lineup are extremely eye catching. Maybe it’s due to the new hires? 86% wool/10% nylon/4% rayon make up the windowpane donegal shell with a full “aerocool” lining. Let’s hope it really is cool & breathable, and not just a name they slapped on a basic poly lining. Many thanks to Eric L. for sending in the style tip on the code & pin, which is good for 30% off $150+.
Timex Waterbury Blue Chrono – $100? on an aftermarket Racing Strap
Hasn’t hit the Timex site (or anywhere else?) quite yet, but this blue Waterbury Chronograph with the white subdials has to be on the way soon. Comes with a sueded blue strap, which is all mighty fine and good, but this 70’s racer throwback is destined to end up on either a perforated or rally strap. Shown above on a (pricey) Hirsch perforated strap, but other sporty straps can certainly be found for less. First spotted on British GQ’s instagram page. UPDATE: It’s there! And $84.
J. Crew Factory “Greyson” Quilted Jacket – $88.50 w/ ADDTOBAG
A surprisingly bad-arse looking jacket from J. Crew Factory. And check out the yoke on this thing. They extend the corduroy from not just the collar and the tops of the shoulders, but all over the back of the traps. Nice detail. Code is good for 25% off $100+ and adds in free shipping too. Expires today, 9/1/15.
Mercanti Fiorentini Burgundy Wingtips – $159.95
The kind of shoe that would get worn a TON by those who are into the jeans + sportcoat thing. A true oxford, but the wingtip and not overly sleek silhouette mean they won’t look out of place with denim or cords or canvas pants. Same goes for wool trousers with some texture to em’. Made in Italy. DSW does do sales every so often, but it seems like its been a while? Also available in tan and black.
BONUS: J. Crew SLIM “Softspun” V-neck – $89.50
Not cheap to start, but J. Crew Sweaters almost always go on sale. It’s a new blend that J. Crew is claiming walks right up to the line with Cashmere, but still doesn’t carry the cost of the goat fluff. Merino wool, viscose, polyamide and alpaca. 5 perfect fall ready shades, their slimmer fit, and a really nice contrasting stitch direction at the shoulders. Should make the wearer look a little more defined up top. Nice move outta them.
