Sales that deserve some attention heading into the weekend, or sometimes, a bit earlier. Might not be some massive once a year event, but still worth a look. Those are what make up these handfuls. Expect these things when necessary. Five of the better sales, one for each finger, are below, plus bonus sales if need be. Included are a few picks worth pointing out.
Friday Update – Brooks Brothers: 25% off w/ PRIVATE
- Filson Original Brief in Navy – $186 ($248)
- Black Metal Navigator BB#1 Stripe Arm Sunglasses – $71.25 ($95)
- Made in the USA Burgundy Leather Wingtips – $276 ($368)
Friday update here. Looks like there’s minimal exclusions with this one. So Filson, their Allen Edmonds made for Brooks Brothers shoe collection, and more is getting the cut. Nice to see those burgundy wingtips (basically the McAllister) also getting the discount. Even comes with an (appreciated by many) partial rubber sole at no extra charge. Real sleek looking. Code PRIVATE runs through Sunday.
JC Penney: 20% off $100+ or 15% off w/ GR8T4YOU
The Pick: Stafford Deacon Wingtip Boot – $79.99 – $84.99 ($99.99)
Despite numerous reports of JCP customer service saying the Deacon (AKA, the new Camlin) was gone and gone for good… it appears to be back? Fantastic. Now, the code GR8T4YOU actually isn’t all that great, since the boots are currently sitting at their full, $99.99 price tag. 15% off if you get just the boots. 20% off if you get something else, and push the pre-code total north of $100 (say, socks or something else cheap). Also, you might want to check your email if you’re on the JCP email list. They sent out a 25% off code and user specific pin this morning to some of their customers. Code is STARTNEW, but you’ll need a 10-digit pin to use it. Full review on the Deacon here.
J. Crew: Some New Arrivals + 40% – 50% off Sale w/ SALETIME
- SLIM Flagstone Colorblock Henley in Navy or Black – $23.99 ($59.50)
- Italian Wool Shawl Collar Cardigan Sweater – $59.99 ($128)
- Lambswool Shawl Collar Sweatershirt – $35.99 FINAL ($79.50)
No, no discount on the new arrivals. But J. Crew had a good batch of new goods start to trickle in. A few items certainly worth keeping an eye on for future discounts. Meanwhile, a few new additions to the sale section = another look. Slim henleys with shoulder accent colorblocking. That Italian Wool shawl collar looks awfully nice as well. Seems like a few of the new sale section items aren’t carrying the “final sale” tag.
Orient: 35% off Select Collections w/ VDAY15
- Orient Curator Power Reserve Automatic – $269.75 ($415)
- Orient Producer Automatic – $162.50 ($250)
- Orient Esteem Semi-Skeleton Automatic – $182 ($280)
30% off is the bare minimum for an Orient Watch purchase, and while it’s just an extra 5% off… it’s still 5% off. Drops the excellent rectangular dial Orient Producer (seen above) down to the mid $100s. Meanwhile, the Curator Power Reserve can be had on Amazon (via 3rd party sellers) for $199 in select color combos. But the grey, sadly, isn’t one of em. Fine looking watch with that grey dial. Full in-person can be found here. Code expires on 2/14.
Gilt: Italian Shoes / Wall + Water Footwear FINAL SALE
- Wall + Water Medallion Cap Toe Oxford – $165 FINAL
- Wall + Water Plain Toe Suede Single Monks – $189 FINAL
- Wall + Water Split Toe Suede Penny Loafer – $169 FINAL
Been a while since the flash-sale membership site Gilt got a mention. Wall + Water is one of their own house brands. There’s certainly a ton of risk involved, since they’re final sale, but the quality is absolutely there. Oddly so. Think around Magnanni levels… maybe a bit more. Made in Italy. Full review of a pair of Wall + Water shoes can be found over here. More than just Wall + Water in their launched as of yesterday “Made in Italy Footware” event.
BONUS I Levi’s: Extra 50% off Sale Styles w/ 50EXTRA
Those 511s seem interesting. 53% Cotton, 31% Wool, 16% Polyester mix, with a herringbone pattern. Might make for a nice, cheap work pant? But you gotta have thin legs. 511s can get real tight in a hurry. It’s a true clearance, so sizes and color selection are all over the board. Prices may vary a bit on those picks ^ (but not by much) depending on what color you’re looking for. Code 50EXTRA is good through Saturday 1/31.
BONUS II B.R.: 50% off Select Styles
- Tailored Slim Blue Wool Dress Pant – $49.25 ($98.50)
- Tailored Slim Charcoal Wool Dress Pant – $49.25 ($98.50)
- Tailored Slim-Fit Non-Iron Birdseye Shirt – $39.50 ($79.50)
- Tailored Slim-Fit Non-Iron Blue Micro-Gingham Shirt – $39.50 ($79.50)
Lotta basics, and sadly no blazers in this one. No code necessary. But, just under fifty bucks for a pair of well cut, all wool dress pants isn’t half bad. And speaking of the cut, BR has made it enormously confusing when it comes to their fits. Their “tailored slim” pants aren’t cut as close as their “tailored slim” shirts. So know that going in. Tailored slim + pants = a nice trim cut. Tailored slim + shirt = their slimmest shirt cut.
