I knew it was time to update the “Joe’s Measurement’s” page when I couldn’t comfortably wear Levi’s 514s anymore. They felt like tube socks from ankle to groin. Having to buy new jeans is the bad news. The good news is that the change of weight has been in a positive direction due to hiring a good pal who’s a trainer, refocusing on some goals, and tweaking my diet.
But this site isn’t intended to be about me. Yet knowing some accurate measurements of the guy who’s wearing the thing you’re thinking about buying is valuable. This would be how it all breaks down, and therefor, measures up.
For comparison’s sake, here’s the “old Joe”. Not a huge difference, but weight is up while the waist is down. That should give you an overall idea. And no, we’re not going to bro-out and start talking about workout routines, supplements, etc… (BRAH WHATTYA BENCH BRAH?!?). Now, the above are all tape measure figures. Many times (read: most) retail goods are off in terms of being true to size. Here’s what I normally wear off the rack:
Suit Jackets/Blazers: 38R, 39R, or 40R
Pants: 31 or 32 waist. 30 inseam, or a 32 hemmed up a bit.
Dress Shirts: 15.5, 32/33. (But 33.5″ at ratio/clothing is ideal)
Non neck & sleeve shirts: Usually medium.
