Sales that deserve some attention when heading into the weekend. Might not be some massive once a year event, but still worth a look. Those are what make up the Friday Handful. Expect these things when necessary. Five of the better sales, one for each finger, are below. Included are a few picks worth pointing out.
.
Banana Republic: 50% off up to 5 full price items in store… IF you got the invite
The Picks: Italian Wool Glenplaid Suit – $267.50 ($535) | Hyde Oxford – $70.00 ($140)
Check your inboxes. Banana Republic sent out an email to their “Luxe” Credit Card members (one step up from the regular credit card) with single user codes. No blanket code or anything like that. They’re good for 50% off up to 5 full price items in store, or 30% off online. Store selection can vary greatly. For example, plenty of stores don’t carry shoes. And then there’s what sizes are available. For those that didn’t get the invite, they are offering 25% off with the code BRLIKE through 8/26.
Allen Edmonds: Summer Clearance Sale
The Picks: Lubbock Monk – $199.00 ($295) | Pencil Horsehair Dauber – $1.00 ($2)
Two things of note: 1. AEs don’t dip under $200 that often. And while they’re not universally loved, the rougher, more casual Lubbock monk strap from Allen Edmonds does have its fans. 2. Allen Edmonds provides free shipping no minimum. So, if you need a couple more daubers for your shoe shine arsenal, two bucks shipped for a pair ain’t bad.
L.L. Bean Signature: Late Summer Sale
The Pick: Cotton Wool Commando Sweater – $64.99 ($79)
Been awhile since L.L. Bean Signature got a mention. There’s just not a ton of variety with them right now, but they’ve added a few more items to their sale section. The sweater is 80% cotton with 20% wool mixed in. Great looking in Navy. Might want to check a local army/navy surplus store first for something similar
.
Ralph Lauren: Extra 25% off sale & free shipping w/ RLSUM25
The Pick: Hayward Suede Driver – $171.75 ($395)
The Perfect shoe if you’re a sucker for grey, suede, and drivers. And as long as you’ve got a decent sized stack of cash on hand, since $172 is no small fee to pay for a pair of loafers. The RL site has been picked over pretty good, so hunting and pecking might be a wild goose chase. The free shipping no minimum thing is awfully nice though. A few more sizes and colors in the same price range (mostly) over at Amazon. Maybe the extra 20% off single use code when signing up for their shoe store emails would work too?
Beyond the Rack: “Top Watch Brands”
The Pick: Tag Heurer Monaco Calibre 12 – $4699.99 ($6300)
Oh look. Now it’s only forty seven hundred dollars. Well that’s just mighty fine.
