Target Wall Coat / Hat Hooks – $3 – $8 a piece
Valet stands appeal to two types. The first are those who like to set their clothes out the night before. The second are the guys who get home and for whatever reason, toss their clothes on their floor instead of getting them in the closet.
For some they’re a nice intermediary. Your closet is the dugout. A valet stand is the on deck circle.
If you don’t want to spend the money on a full valet stand, or you just prefer to keep your floor space as open as possible, consider a couple of cheap but still good looking coat and hat hooks for your wall.
Target sells them in a variety of shapes and finishes, and they’re perfect for hanging up anything you’ve just taken off, or will put on at some point in the near future. They work especially well if your closet is small and hard to get into. They’re also a plus if your closet isn’t in the bedroom, but say in a spare bedroom or office across the hall.
Skip the big blocky hook rails. just get a couple of the solo hooks. If you want the full valet stand effect, maybe buy a small shelf to install close to the hooks. Something to put your wallet, watch, and keys on, yet won’t interfere with how your jacket is hanging.
Sounds basic, and some won’t like the idea of putting hooks into their wall, but they’ll make a big difference for some.
