5. Knot Cufflinks by Link Up (set of 15) – $28.00 via Gilt

Stumbled across these on Gilt a few weeks back so there’s a decent chance that they might reappear. A lot of us are headed to weddings this summer wearing french cuff shirts. Silk knots are a great way to brighten up your suited look while keeping it formal at the same time.
.
4. Mike Konos Italian Made Dress Loafer – $139.95

Damn. That’s how you do a dress loafer. Leather sole, perfect toe, and a subtle penny loafer type strap across the top. They’re made in Italy by the DSW house brand Mike Konos, which so far, has a decent track record.
.
3. Rag & Bone Boater Hat – $39 ($140) | BOSS Black Wool Bow Tie – $26.59 ($55)

I, personally, am not a hat guy. Nor am I a bow tie guy. But if I WERE… they’d look something like this. Hat is made in the USA, Bow Tie is made in Italy. Both incredibly reasonably priced.
.
2. Banana Republic Tailored micro-stripe blazer – $150.00 (but on sale a lot)

There’s got to be a promo code or site wide sale coming somewhere around the corner. Sizes are starting to get limited on-line, but these seem to have been well distributed to the B.R. brick and mortar stores. Currently at the tailor, full review coming. It’s a real nice lighter color/weight blazer that can work deep into the fall.

1. Seiko 5 SNZJ59- $152.98

UPDATE: And overnight Amazon has jacked the price up by more than $100 to $276.25. Which is bizarre. Three other similar options are still well under $200. For now. Credit Mike for noticing the price jump.
They say you can’t please everybody, but this watch probably gets as close to everyone-approves as possible. It’s an automatic, so those fanatics will be satisfied. The dial has just enough detail, and the dark outer ring gives it a good sport feel without making it look too casual. The stainless links? A perfectly spaced with little shine layout. Even those who always reach for a leather band watch should be happy with this one.
The boater hat and bow tie are “Sorry, this item is no longer available online”
Wow – Amazon might be on to you Joe. The price for the Seiko is now $276 on the site.
Looks like they were low stock and someone snatching them up this morning.
What… the… hell. That’s really disappointing. I wonder if they have some sort of formula that slowly raises the price as stock starts to dwindle? Because there are four of these models available on Amazon: https://dappered.com/2011/05/the-best-looking-seiko-5-series-ever/ And two of the four are still around $140. The dark stainless is starting to creep up though. Scout’s honor this was $152.98 yesterday.
Yeah, either that or they scour the world wide web for reviews with links to their products and then jack the price up. Who knows.
Hey Joe….just found the Frye Dakota boot from your weekend Macy’s picks for $119.99 at Piperlime, Macy’s price was $133.50. Sizes available for the Redwood color are 8, 9, 10, 11 and 13.
I believe Joe is fighting his own success. Once a retailer is mentioned here, they begin raising their prices. They know this site has an active, eager and motivated fan base and are out to captilize on us. I have noticed hardly any sales from Lands End Canvas since they won the retail competition awhile back.
Nice! Good catch. Great sizes too.
Y’know, as much as I’d like to think we’re that powerful, I just don’t think we hold that kind of influence. I’m guessing there’s some auto-generated raise-the-price mechanism/formula when a certain number of clickthroughs/purchases are made at Amazon… but to raise the price on a $150 watch to $276 is pretty bold. I’m thinking there’s a glitch there. As far as LEC goes, I’ve noticed their lack of sales too. I’m positive we have nothing to do with that, like I said, we’re just too small to make that big of a dent. Maybe it’s cotton prices skyrocketing and LEC attempting to adjust to the rising costs? Just a theory. No inside info on that.
Just got free shipping from LEC yesterday.
