5 Favorites from Andrew Snavely of Primer Magazine
Sure it’s just stuff. But stuff can make life easier, more enjoyable, etc… Every so often we ask one of our favorite people to rattle off their five favorite things. This is the stuff they’d grab if the house was burning down.
Andrew Snavely of Primer Magazine is on a mission. That mission is to help younger, 20-something men make the transition from the world of college to the real world of grown ups. Relationships, career success, clothes too… it’s all covered by Primer.
Primer Magazine is like the successful older brother many never had. And this is his stuff…

#1 Graduation Present Citizen Watch
“I wear this watch almost every day. My parents gave it to me as a high school graduation gift 10 years ago. My dad wears a watch his parents gave him for graduation regularly as well. The style has held up, I love that itʼs light and has a thin proï¬le, and it doesnʼt have a ton of extra doo-dads like my Fossil from the same time period.”

#2 Frye Dakota Mid-Lace Boot
“Iʼve been wearing these at least 4 times a week since I reviewed them on Primer in April 2010. They still look as good as when I got them. Theyʼre the most comfortable boots I own and look awesome with jeans and a t-shirt or dressed up with a tie and a sweater.”

#3 Moleskin Pocket Cahier
“I carry one of these in my back pocket everywhere I go. Theyʼre perfect for jotting down ideas, songs I hear on the radio, addresses or phone numbers for places Iʼm heading out to, grocery lists and anything else worth remembering. These are the soft cover version, so they bend when you sit down. You wonʼt even know itʼs back there.“
.
#4 Victorinox Swiss Army Climber II Pocket Knife
“If you donʼt carry a pocket knife with you, you should. Youʼll be amazed at how much you use it. Remember when you thought you didnʼt need a smart phone and now you couldnʼt live without it? Same thing with a pocket knife. This one has screwdrivers, scissors, 2 blades, a corkscrew, bottle and can openers, tweezers and more.“

#5 Battlefield Bad Company 2 Multi Player
“Iʼm not proud of this. I havenʼt played video games since Goldeneye but a friend of mine turned me onto the multiplayer of this game and itʼs addicting. I can sit down and play for hours if Iʼm not careful. Play against real people all over the world through the internet as you build your rank and weapons stockpile. Give it a try — or donʼt. I warned you.”
