Club Monaco Persol-styled Sunglasses – $49.98
Persol sunglasses were brought back to the mainstream’s attention by Daniel Craig in Casino Royale. Persol’s are one of the few brands of sunglasses that make a classy, stylish, plastic frame that’s not too over the top. They’re good and substantial, but you won’t be mistaken for a snowboarder.
Good thing Club Monaco makes a pair that looks suspiciously like Persols, for a third of the price.
Same rounded rectangular frames, same black and tortoise shell color options, same silver-colored hinge. And being that it’s from a pretty highly regarded retailer like Club Monaco, you won’t feel like you’re wearing a knock off. Because you’re not.
Club Monaco is to Hilfiger, as Persol is to Ralph Lauren. Still a solid name, just not nearly as expensive.
