Sales that deserve some attention heading into the weekend or a bit earlier. Five of the better sales are below, plus bonus sales if need be. Included are a few picks worth pointing out.
A surprisingly nice deal since The Tie Bar specializes in inexpensive neckwear, pocketsquares, etc… and usually free shipping for them doesn’t kick in until $99 (which would be a lot of ties & pocket squares.)
*SCOREBOARD CHECK*
BR 40% off events in 2023:
January – October: 2
November & December: 3
They really do bring it for the holidays, don’t they? Honestly thought they were done until the after-Christmas clearances. Also worth noting is that BR apparently has come out with a new (2.0) version of their Traveler Jeans. Seems like a review is in order. Here’s their description: “we updated our customer-favorite Traveler jean with a more pronounced texture that achieves beautifully authentic washes, while maintaining the brushed interior and high-stretch you know and love.”
Still far from cheap, but Spier specializes in maximizing bang-for-the-buck. Nobody seems to be doing it better. And their peacoats are of particular note. That donegal option is the bee’s knees, and has treated your friendly local neighborhood affordable men’s style website editor well over the last few years. The fabric is a perfect, slightly speckled, Italian wool which is both flexible and warm. It’s long enough to easily cover your suit jacket or sportcoat tail, but won’t drown your frame either. Chest high hand warmer pockets. Shoulders that have enough room to get the thing on easily, but don’t restrict movement by being anchored too low. Also, the inverted box pleat in the back really does make moving around in this thing a real pleasure. It goes with you. Doesn’t fight against you. Cheaper coats just don’t feel like this. Note that the coat in the in-person picture above is from a couple of years back, and they now recommend sizing up if you plan on wearing one of these over a suit or sportcoat. That all said, size shown above is a 40R on 5’10″/195. Head here to see their shipping timelines (longer than usual due to the holiday rush), and head here to see their returns policy.
Limited availability on the Neptunes and Hydras and it’s safe to say they’ll move lightning fast. But according to them, they’ll open pre-orders for a late January delivery if they blow through that initial re-stock quickly. Nice to see the Zephyr being restocked too. All colors of the Zephyr (black, white, and red) should be restocked on Friday at 11am ET, along with the no-date Neptune and the Hydra GMT. Full review of the Neptune can be found here (albeit the version with a date).
Nothing earth shattering in there, but for the J. Crew fans who are also serious bargain hunters, it’s worth taking a spin. All final sale though. No returns or exchanges. Feels like J. Crew is starting to dip their toes in the winter-clearance waters.
Big thanks to our man Adam for the heads up on this Rothy’s sale. Pretty hefty price reductions on a few of their flagship models, although it’s all final sale. No returns or exchanges. So either be a repeat customer, or be ready to gamble. Full review of the shown above RS02 can be found here.
Ends Thursday. Friday Update: Nope. 40% off is still running. They just changed the code overnight to SALETIME. Still a bummer that the Kenton Pacer boots are all but sold out.
AND it seems like the 20% off carts of $400+ deal might even stack on their sale section? Awfully nice of them. As long as you steer clear from the Final Sale section you should be able to initiate a return if they don’t work out. Just familiarize yourself with their return policy. Pre-paidwill set you back $15.
