This post will be updated as more sales roll in. Also, all items below in the graphics are clickable. Tapping/clicking on an item should take you directly to that individual product’s page. Enjoy the long weekend fellas. Apologies for the incoming “collage-barrage” on social. These long weekend retail blowouts seem to necessitate that.
Very nice to see that the unconstructed blazers are up for the 25% off. Spendy stuff, but that’s Bonobos these days. Especially when they exclude their (also pricey) OG stretch washed chinos. Code LETSFALL runs through Tuesday. Exclusions are: Original Stretch Washed Chinos, Icon colors of the Stretch Washed Chino 2.0, Icon colors of the Stretch Weekday Warrior Dress Pants, and Jetsetter Stretch Suits. More than a bit surprised that even some of the Weekday Warrior dress pants are actually getting the cut. Usually they’re all excluded. And there’s some good colors of the Weekday Warriors that aren’t excluded.
Finally. Target’s a little late to this party (showing up on Friday,) but they’ve arrived all the same. No code needed. It looks like it’s on just about everything. Pretty glad to see that the All in Motion performance fabric 5-pockets (pants of the year) as well as their sharp performance polos are getting the 20% off. Those are a steal at full price.
Grant Stone consistently impresses our shoe expert Adam. The quality and craftsmanship they deliver at full price is already super impressive. So to get something not just on sale but with a sneaky/extraordinarily rare extra 20% off, is one heck of a deal. And as long as you steer clear of final sale stuff, you should get free shipping and free returns (15-day return window.) Code LABORDAY20 ends the 5th at Midnight.
Thursday Update: They’ve bumped it up to an additional 60% off final sale stuff. But it’s all final sale that’s getting that extra 60% off cut. And final means final. No returns or exchanges. So be certain it’s something you want and will fit.
And now the full price stuff that can be returned or exchanged if need be. Full picks here if you’d like them. Code SHOPNOW runs through Monday.
Free shipping is no small thing when you just want to buy a pair of cheap, no-slip sunglasses over the internet. (Stops writing to ask Mrs. Dappered how much she paid for shipping as she recently purchased a pair of Goodr sunglasses…) yeah it looks like shipping is usually five dollars. Not now though. Free shipping usually doesn’t kick in until fifty bucks. So if you want to pick up a pair of good shades that stay on your face, and don’t want to get dinged for shipping at checkout… now’s not a bad time.
L-R = Slim, Straight, and Athletic fit.
This one’s a quiet, almost hidden deal. Old Navy on big holiday weekends can kind of be a cluster-f. Both in person and online. There’s multiple banners shouting multiple things, but the bottom line appears to be some styles are even more than the top-end half off they might see around, say, Black Friday. Their “Ultimate” Chinos = One of their all time best sellers with a bit more poly woven in to resist wrinkles a little better. For a good long while there they didn’t even carry basic stretch chinos, it was just these. They sell that well. They’re that well loved. Just four colors though. Three fits as usual = slim, straight, or athletic. Twenty Five bucks = 53% off.
Extra 15% off their entire sale section. There are a few final sale items scattered about in there, so heads up on those. No returns or exchanges on anything marked as final sale. And sometimes something can be regular sale (meaning, returnable) yet if you click on a different color, then that other color is final sale. So be extra careful.
Meanwhile on the other end of the price spectrum of $25 Old Navy pants… there’s Oak Street. They don’t run a ton of sales. They run some sales, but not a ton of sales. And this is one of the better ones. Good gracious those cap-toe boots are pretty. Made in the USA and all that.
Watch out for final sale stuff. It’s mostly final sale in there, and anything that’s final sale can’t be returned or exchanged.
The Pick: Men’s The Standard Mid-Calf Lightweight Lifestyle Sock – $26
If you had to pick one type/model of socks that you’d be forced to wear with everything for the rest of your life… from working out to wearing with a suit and tie… these are the socks. No really. “The Standard” from Darn Tough are those socks. Perfect for casual, smart casual, and/or dressed to the nines. They do it all. Made in the USA, extra cushioning protects without being overly bulky, made from temperature regulating and moisture wicking merino wool. Machine wash gentle and tumble dry low. And now for the skeptical, Darn Tough is running a free shipping no minimum promo through Monday. So for those who are like “there’s no way ONE pair of socks can be worth $26…” … now’s not a bad time to pick up just one pair to see for yourself. Or don’t. But free shipping usually won’t kick in until $50. So this is the time for those who want to buy a pair of socks, and just one pair of socks.
Prices are as marked online. If a Nordstrom Rack “Clear the Racks” event was a Jeopardy! category, it’d be potpourri. Anything that hits Nordstrom Rack is already clearance, and this is the clearance of clearance. Wheels within wheel, man. Far out.
Earlier this week this was limited to those who had an account created with Brooks Brothers, but that’s no longer the case. It’s open to everyone. 25% off should happen at checkout. And would it be a Brooks Brothers sale without a shed-load of patterned sportcoats and the odd 1818 suit?
Lots of exclusions though. Yet the adidas Grand Court 2.0 is included. Synthetic upper on those. But for thirty five bucks, it feels like one could do a lot worse if you’re looking for a versatile pair of sneakers. Gotta be logged into your DSW account to use that COMEBACK code.
The multi-buy shirts deal isn’t that unusual, but 25% off their suits, sportcoats, sweaters, and shoes, isn’t one of those perpetual deals they run. And CT makes good stuff. Maybe not great/mind-blowing/snob-pleasing stuff… but quite good stuff for those of us who understand that things cost money to make, and money takes time to make (snobs sometimes forget those factors). Review of those suede chelsea boots can be found here. And a reminder that this stuff ships from the U.K., so outbound shipping is an expensive $14.95. Returns are $8.95.
A little now (the polos and sneakers,) a little later (the beanies.) Was an extra 20% off, now an additional 30% off. On those polos: They’re performance wear. 90% poly / 10% spandex sweat-wicking and anti-microbial. Yarn-dyed and Oxford-knit to keep them looking classic. So, best of both worlds. Be aware that there’s some regular sale as well as final sale items in the Todd Snyder sale section. Anything with that Final note on it can’t be returned or exchanged.
NOTE: This post will be updated through the long weekend.
