Consider these to be power rankings. Whether you’re looking for gift ideas or a quick upgrade for yourself, expect these to come around about once a month. You’ll find new arrivals and old favorites, especially good deals, or maybe something pricey to keep an eye on for future sales. Skagen “Hagen” World Time Watch – $225
Good gracious that’s a work of art. One of Skagen’s newest designs. Can a watch be minimalist and busy all at the same time? If so, this is it. World time function. Fantastic placement of the date window (circular too) at 4 ‘oclock. The world’s time zones in tonal text circle the outer edge of the face. Full price is $225. Haven’t seen it hit Amazon or Jomashop for less yet. Fingers crossed that it does.
Allen Edmonds “Higgins” Boot – $350 | “Liverpool” in Suede – $445
A new design plus a new option for a newer design. Yes, fall still feels like it’s quite a ways off, but the new arrivals are starting to trickle in and Allen Edmonds sure appears to have nailed in this year. That plain toe, trench-style boot is a great blend of tradition and elevated looks and materials. Made from Horween Chromexcel no less. Meanwhile, the Liverpool chelsea has already made a Most Wanted list this year, but they just released the suede option. Spendy at $445, but finger’s crossed they dip under $300 during sales, or, if they hit the 2nds market on shoebank.com. (And if that’s just way too much for your budget? Keep an eye on Banana Republic. They made a couple of terrific chelsea boots last year.)
Knit-Back Driving Gloves – $55.19 – $125
Spendy, but just-different-enough. Suitsupply had some for around $79 last year, but their current glove lineup doesn’t show this particular style for the fall (maybe that’ll change). Pictured above is Autodromo’s awesome, and jaw-droppingly expensive option.
Old Navy “Ultimate” Slim or Straight(!) Built-in Flex Khakis – Mid $30s
An extremely well executed, un-boring basic, now available in a more accommodating straight fit. 97% cotton, 3% spandex mid-weight chinos in nicely saturated colors. Khakis (or, chinos as some insist on referring to them) done right. Usually excluded from deals and codes since they’re categorized as an “everyday steal.” But every once in a while they’ll do an exclusion free code.
J. Crew Factory’s FALL Sportcoats – Low to Mid $100s??
Factory nails it when it comes to seasonal fabric sportcoats. And while it’s sweltering now… autumn isn’t that far off. Shown above is last year’s fantastic, blue tweed sportcoat. The button stance is perfect, the sleeves have non-functioning sleeve buttons (easy to tailor) and the prices are usually really quite good for the quality. Expect these to start rolling in over the next couple weeks.
BONUS: Mercanti Fiorentini Brogue Cap Toe – $129.95 w/ 10FORYOU
The not-quite-as-fortunate man’s Strand. Made in Italy, soft flexible leather, and while they are almost certainly cemented, the quality and durability is there. Looks like they’ve built this one on their slightly chisel-toed last, so, if you’re a round toe purist, know that there are gonna be some slight angles as the toe comes to a point. Available in black, tan, or a hugely versatile shade of burgundy.
