Sales that deserve some attention heading into the weekend, or sometimes, a bit earlier. Might not be some massive once a year event, but still worth a look. Those are what make up these handfuls. Five of the better sales, one for each finger, are below, plus bonus sales if need be. Included are a few picks worth pointing out.
The Obvious Pick: Orient Mako USA in Black, Blue, or White – $159 – $169 ($225)
Big thanks to readers Perry, Aaron, and Kevin for sending in the style tips on this one. Never personally purchased anything through Long Island Watch, but they do seem to have some sort of way of attaining newer Orient styles, and putting them on sale. The new Mako USA has been excluded from codes and specials on the official Orient website since it’s launch, and if memory serves, this is the first time it’s popped up somewhere else. Sapphire Crystal, solid end links, automatic movement, 200m water resistance. Full review of the Mako USA here. And here’s Long Island Watch’s return policy (you’re on the hook for returns).
Not on some super crazy major sale yet (especially the slub linen… that price has to come down), but a heads up for those who have a warm weather wedding to attend (or, host) come this spring/summer. Kinda a bummer that they seem to only make slim pants for their seasonal suiting. So, be warned if you are possessing a pair of thunder thighs.
And here comes Huckberry, diving into the clearance end of the pool. They’ve broken it up by category. Scroll down a little on their home page and you’ll find clearance shoes, gear, apparel, home goods, etc… Careful though, lots of this stuff is final sale. And that’ll be a deal breaker for many (especially when it comes to sized items like boots and what not). Great price on those Made in the USA Horsehide (not shell cordovan though) boots. UPDATE: Weird… Huckberry has taken those Horsehide boots out of their sale section? They were very much on final sale yesterday (Thursday) morning.)
Old Navy, seemingly, has quietly been gaining some style steam as of late. Sure it’s pretty basic stuff, but transitional times like late winter to spring, and the warmth of summer can mean you lean a bit more on the basics. Those jeans? 96% cotton, with 3% poly and 1% spandex in there for stretch. Hmmm. Wondering if they might lean a little closer to the BR Traveler denim than standard jeans? Those are pretty high hopes, but at this price, might be worth a shot. Code SHOPNDROP expires today, 2/18/16.
The Pick: Made in the USA Waxed Canvas “Over Under” Sportsman’s Duffel – $251.81 ($395)
Onward Reserve doesn’t have a massive amount of inventory, so their sale section isn’t large either. But that bag? Made in the USA. Waxed canvas…. How is it not Duluth Pack’s Sportsman’s Duffel? Just with a different branding patch? Maybe? No mention of dimensions on the Onward Reserve site. But, it’d be tough to find for a better price if it is highly similar, if not identical to the Duluth.
