Form Function Form Field Notes Wallet – $124
Cheap? Nope. But if you’re a note taker/idea-jotter who is constantly carrying around physical pen & paper, then FFF’s Field Notes Wallet might be a fantastic investment, or, gift for someone who fits that description. Includes two Field Notes notebooks and a Fisher Space Pen. Cut from a single piece of Horween leather. Five shades of leather and three colors of pen to choose from. Shown above is the straight wookie-ish Rough-Out Tan “Superfuzz” option with matte black hardware & matching space pen.
Bonobos Jetsetter Unconstructed Cotton Blazer – $228
Interesting. Missed this one for yesterday’s round-up (it’s a brand new arrival). 98% cotton, 2% “stretch”, and uncontstructed. Looks like it could be a nice alternative to the Ludlow in Italian cotton, especially if a Ludlow’s arms are a little tight on you. Available in either the Bonobos Slim (which is VERY slim) or their just trim enough “Standard” fit. Not cheap to start. Fingers crossed for a sale.
Teeling Small Batch Rum-Cask-Finished Irish Whiskey – $35ish
Interesting but still accessible in terms of taste (and price). If you think sipping rums are a little too caramelized, and most Irish Whiskey are a little too grassy, yet still enjoy both types of liquor, then this stuff might become a new favorite. It’s an Irish, but the maturation in rum barrels really rounds off the corners. A bit like warm zucchini bread, with a certain freshness, but still savory. Bloomberg did a very nice profile on Teeling over here. Interesting that the patriarch is a teetotaler.
Mercanti Fiorentini Suede Oxford – $79.95
Dark grey bucks, minus the clunky toe, plus a very reasonable price. While not as “summery” (but still very appropriate for warm weather), dark grey bucks are much more versatile than their bone/off-white counterparts. Wear em’ with jeans now. Wear them with linen pants and a polo when it heats up. Made in Brazil, and should go on sale at some point because it’s DSW.
Seiko Automatic SRP5 Series – $134 – $199
Appears to be Seiko’s newest designs for their trusty Seiko 5 automatic movements. A sporty 44mm diameter case, 100m water resistance, easy to read, uncluttered dial, and a unidirectional edged bezel. Big fan of the rubber strap option with that blue 0-20 segment. Also available in a standard black on black + stainless band (which would look terrific on a Bond-style NATO band), an ion-plated with red accent, and a few other design options. Stand by for an in-person.
