Barneys Warehouse Sale Moves Online – ALL ITEMS ARE FINAL SALE
Barneys isn’t Walmart. High end names, high end prices, and a few things that are so “designer” that it’s hard to believe they made it off the runway and into real life. But there’s one event where the wide line that separates Barneys and Wal-Mart on the spectrum heads into flux, bends, and the two extreme ends are staring at each other now that the line has made a circle:
The Barneys Warehouse Sale.
It’s like Black Friday at Walmart, only instead of thundering herds stampeding for a cheap DVD player, there’s a bunch of designer name loving squealers clawing for a marked down pair of shoes. Up until this year you had to be on site for this thing, but this year they’ve put it (or some of it?) online. It’s high end, designer, clearance stuff, so know that there’s some weird and expensive things in there. Bit of a freak show. Many thanks to Danny S. for the style tip.

Barney’s New York Co-Op Wingtip – $109.00 ($220)
That’s one incredible looking casual wingtip. Made in Italy on a half danite sole. It’s the overall shape of the shoe, the sole, and the reinforced eyelets that give it more of a casual look. Will look outstanding with jeans.
Barney’s New York Co-Op Suede Wingtip – $119.00 ($250)
As casual as the wingtip above, but on the exact opposit site of the svelt scale. This one is trim, the other is fat. Whearas the danite sole gives the first an almost boot level of sole thickness, the suede looks to be slipper slim. Lots of sizes.
Barney’s Smooth Wingtip in Brown or Black – $249.00 ($510)
A house brand that’s making shoes which retail at half a grand. Ouch. Well now they’re down to a quarter of a grand. Still plenty of ouch. If you like the look of a wingtip’s lines but don’t like all of the perforations, then these are a rare example (outside of a few Boss wingtips) of how to deliver a minimal wingtip. Sizes are scattered. Made in Italy.
Harris Perforated Cap Toe Balmoral – $259.00 ($525)
Common perception is that brown shoes just look much better than black. This is proof that the common perception is probably overstated. Mean and classy looking at the same time. Expensive at $260 even on sale.
Barneys Plain Toe Single Monk – $229.00 ($475)
On a leather sole, but no word on how they’re constructed. When pushing $500, you’d think they’d be stitched. Sizes 10, 12, and 13 available at post time. Perfect buckle shape and less gap on the top so it won’t look quite as, um… feminine. Sizes in the brown option are extremely limited. They also have a wider buckle, rounder toe monk with plenty of sizes for ten bucks less.
Barneys Italian Suede Belt – $59.00 ($120)
Don’t worry about matching shoes to colored belts like this one (although, there are options). Wear it with anything that either leans casual, or is casual, and isn’t a solid black.
Jack Spade Grained Leather Card Case – $49.00 ($105)
A bi-fold for your inside jacket pocket. Sure you could sit on it too if you wish. Grained exterior and a real nice looking, contrasting leather and fabric interior. 4″x3.25″. An exclusive product made just for Barneys. Also available with a black exterior.
Gant Rugger Fair Isle Sweater – $99.00 ($225)
Meanwhile in Olso circa 1979…
And a WTF: Alexander McQueen Silk/Cotton Leopard Pant – $???
Not quite sure what’s more frightening. The pant, or, that they sold out while the post was being prepped so I didn’t get the price.
One more because it’s something: Alexandre Plokhov Inside Out Skirt – $299 ($620)
“How do you want to mess with people today?”
“How about a skirt for men that’s…”
“Too predictable.”
“… inside out?”
“… GENIUS.”
No word quite when the online Barneys Warehouse sale expires. All items are final sale. Free shipping starts at $150.
