Full honesty, and I’m dropping down into the first person here… I was prepared to hate this watch. I’m not a gold watch guy at all. And even though the case on this one is a silver stainless steel, it looked so bland online that I figured it’d be cheesy in person. But most of you prefer automatics, and Timex has been on a roll, so it was ordered.
It’s pretty damn impressive.

The pictures on Amazon don’t do it justice. That, and those Amazon pics are just flat out wrong. The hands aren’t black, but instead they’re a subtle, not too flashy gold like the numerals and crown. The texture on the dial is outstanding. The leather strap is surprisingly flexible, and the simple power reserve meter is an awfully nice touch. The 24-hour dial under 12 o’clock balances the whole thing out.
It’s 42mm in diameter but wears a little smaller. It’s just a nice, simple, clean automatic. Even has a see-through case-back so you can view the movement. Available for $90 through a 3rd party seller
