What’s the best season for style? – Winter, Spring, Summer, or Fall?

Powered by MS Paint, the Dappered Seasonal Sartorial Excitementometer (patent pending) proves that each season has its own stylistic advantages and disadvantages. Some like it hot, but some favor cooler weather and the layers and fabrics that come with it. Leave your vote for your favorite season in the comments section below…

‘Bout right? Or is it off the mark? Is Autumn really the best overall season for style? Does Summer peak early then lose its novelty quickly? Make your case for your favorite time of year in the comments section below…
Fall is definitely my fav!
I think you forgot 1st women in skirts and dresses sighting towards the end of the spring.
Two of the three peaks of the graph are about women. This implies that roughly 66% of the awesomeness of fashion is due to our ability to ogle women that are wearing clothing that accentuates their, uh, personalities.
I am in complete agreement with this.
Fall is definitely the best…when you live in a place where it gets cold. Florida is not such a place.
Put me in the “fall” camp. Definitely the best!
I am a fall baby so I love the weather and the color palette of the fall. It’s also the best because of the ability layer spring and winter oufits together beautifully. Fall FTW…
Your wardrobe is pretty much limited in the summer due to the weatherz. I hate it! Bring on fall and i could layer up!
Put me down as a Fall aficionado.
Paul agrees (and rhymes) with Fall.
Yes, you definitely forgot summer dresses, but otherwise, it’s pretty much spot on.
Sure wish we had spring here in Oklahoma… High’s supposed to be 93 today.
Not a lot of seasonal weather changes here in Southern California. For the most part it’s hot in the summer and somewhat less hot in the “winter.” I do enjoy that brief window during the winter months when occasionally it’s cool enough for me to layer.
the spring>summer’s almost here! transition and fall are definitely the best, and you nailed it
I have to agree–shoulder season’s are absolutely the best. I think Spring is a bit better than you give it credit for, but that might just be hope in the air and exactly–first bikini sighting nails it haha. Anything with moderate weather that requires layering. Fall is absolutely incredible, however.
Cheers,
Ben
I am loving this quote…
Winter is definitely a fashion slow-point for me. I’m a bit of an outdoorsman and I’ve got a pretty extensive collection of extreme outdoor gear, so I tend to revert to that in winter. All fashion snobbery aside, it’s a bit of a necessity in a true cold climate. Stuff like my 15 year old down parka from L.L.Bean and my Schnee hunting boots might not win any style points but they keep me toasty in twenty below.
Other than that, I have to agree that the shoulder seasons are the best. Where I live we have four very distinct seasons – bitterly cold winters, mild springs, hot summers, and mild falls. So spring and fall tend to allow me the most clothing diversity. It’s easy and comfortable to wear a nice pair of oxfords and a sport coat, without either freezing or sweltering.
The single greatest day of the year.
Definitely. You end up with restricted, boring outfits.
FALL, ESPECIALLY in New England…cant beat the colors of foliage
Fall! I mean I feel the bikini is a little high reaching-not all women need or should bear that much in public! Though you do have to give it to them for having the gut(s) to go out like that shamelessly! And beauty is, afterall, in the eyes of the beholder!
Late spring/early summer is my favorite season–all those beautiful women in sun dresses and bikinis–but fall is definitely the best time for men’s wear.
Yep. Fall is best for men’s clothes and spring/summer for girl watching.
come on, no mention of Halter Top Day?
fall by far. glad to see im not the only one who loves women in sweaters
Don’t forget the boots…nice sweater, skirt & boots…..mmmmmm! Wrap her up, she’s coming home with me 😉
Joe, you’re a MS paint wizard. There’s no way I could make a graph with lines that perfect.
Fall, I get to wear sweaters, women wear riding boots (which I enjoy for no reason I can explain). Early summer is second with Hawai’ian shirts for me and sundresses for them.
I’m a fan of winter, but there IS a catch to that. I live in Orlando, where the year is about 10 months of Summer and a couple of months where it’s under 65 degrees.
I hear ya Jed. SoCal’s version of this graph a flat line through the whole year with a peak/plateau in summer for bikini/dress season. I have to visit San Francisco if I ever want to wear my peacoat…
I think there should be a higher spik in Spring for the beginnining of seersucker season and the Kentucky Derby
sorry but i love my spring/summer weather in nyc…girls in heels and short skirts? no contest.
SUN DRESSES
What happens between “women in sweaters” and the holidays that drops the level of awesome?
