Use code MUSTHAVE for an extra 30% off J. Crew Sale + Factory
Code expires Thursday October 13th. Watch yourself on those “final sale” items which can’t be returned.
The weeds guys. You gotta lay in em’. Because if you can wait on an item, especially if it’s on J. Crew Factory’s site, chances are one of these extra 30% off sales will roll around. Never do they knock 30% off full retail J. Crew items, but there’s always good finds in the sale section there. Plus, 30% off everything Factory is a solid deal. Sizes can get scarce fast, but as of press time there were good sizes still left in all of these:
.
Factory Thompson Suit Jacket & Pants – $193.20 ($276)
If you’re the type that needs one suit to be appropriate at weddings/funerals/dressed up dinners/etc… but at the same time you do NOT want it to look like some off the rack polyester pleat-fest, then this is your suit. 80% wool and feels incredible. Real nice off the rack fit. Looks like they have 40R jackets back in stock. For now. Full review here.
Update: Uh oh. Their site is now saying it’s expected to ship 1/3/12. That’s not a good sign…
J. Crew Harvest Herringbone Sportcoat – $194.60 ($298)
For the guys who don’t mind laying down some serious money on a higher quality sportcoat for fall. English Wool in their trimmer Ludlow silhouette. Traditional without being stuffy in the least. Center vent and looks like almost all sizes are available in the navy. UPDATE: According to Dapper reader 23 in the comments (hey! We’re up to 23 readers!) this sportcoat is a little more grey in person than navy. So… heads up there.
Factory Oxford Shirts – $24.15 ($34.50) – $27.65 ($39.50)
Finding a reasonably trim, thicker oxford cloth shirt for layering isn’t the easiest task. Now put a price ceiling of $30 on your search and you’re really up the sartorial sh*t creek without a paddle. Stripes are now under $25 with solids (including white) at under $28. Yes they have a logo, but if they’re under a sweater or blazer no one will see it.
Gifford Leather Wingtips – $129.49 ($225) | Leather Wingtips – $94.49 ($168)
So what’s the difference between these two? The Gifford Leather Wingtips are made in Italy and have a lot more sizes available. Sole and toe is different on each as well. Have heard/seen/read some complaints about quality on these, plus they’re final sale so no returns. Plenty of pitfalls.
Factory Tweed Blazer – $124.60 ($178) & Refined Sportcoat – $131.60 ($188)
Full review of the tweed here, and it’s one of the top affordable blazers / sportcoats of the fall. Haven’t seen the refined sportcoat in person, but if it’s built off the same template of the tweed blazer, you’re golden.
J. Crew Merino Sweater Vest – $31.50 ($55)
Yes you can wear a sweater vest without any of the nerd look. Makes your torso look smaller too since your shirt sleeves get to move a little as opposed to being stuck under the sleeves. Rules for wearing these here.
Factory Wool Walking Coat – $124.50 ($178)
For those that just can’t get on board with the double breasted peacoat or trench look. Single breasted but not completely boring thanks to the cuffs and pockets. Wool mix.
J. Crew Bowery Glen Plaid Pant – $41.99 ($88.00)
Get beyond boring solids and tired khaki. It’s electrifying! It’s exciting! … It’s Glen Plaid! Yes sir.
RIP Bernie Mac.
Factory Merino V-Neck – $31.50 ($49.50)
The V dips but not outrageously so, and the fit is trim through the body and arms. Feel of the merino wool is neither bulky nor tissue thin. About as good as it gets for a $30 sweater.
The J. Crew extra 30% off Sale and Factory items code MUSTHAVE expires on Thursday. Watch out for final sale items on both the J. Crew and J. Crew FACTORY site since you can’t return those.
