Because despite the upper level prices, there’s still some incredible deals to be found within Nordstrom’s Anniversary Sale. G.I. Joe was wrong. Knowing isn’t half the battle. Having a tailor is. (Or maybe, knowing you need a tailor would still prove G.I. Joe’s theory?) Even if you’re overweight, you don’t want to look an extra 10 pounds overweight. Off the rack dress shirts, even slim fits, will need alterations to avoid looking like a poncho.

This turned into a debate over the merits of undershirts when it’s hot. Do they really prevent your shirt from getting damp in the pits? Or do they just get wet, hold the wet, then continue to transfer the wet to your exterior shirt throughout the day? To each his own, but… ditching the undershirt is worth a shot if you haven’t tried it.
