Blame it on your cookies. Gap, Banana Republic, and Old Navy are currently running a select customers sale, and depending on how “select” you are you’ll get either 20, 25 or 30% off their entire trio of websites. Here’s a hypothesis: They know who you are and rank you based on information gathered when you’re on the internet. What are the deciding factors? I’m sure there’s a chart somewhere. One thing I know for sure is that if I’m in Firefox (which I do most of my web browsing and therefor shopping in) GAP Inc. seems to like me more than if I’m in my hardly ever used Internet Explorer:
Has this system been cracked before? You bet. It requires editing a cookie, and by doing so either you or I very well could be violating some kind of user agreement. But a less tech based work around to obtaining the 30% off cookie would be, I think, to see the Banana Republic tweet from yesterday which promoted the 30% off sale and code. We retweeted it too.
You’d think that by seeing that tweet, or following BR, etc… your browser would have the information in that specific cookie GAP Inc. requires to deliver the maximum 30% off. No? Tweeting a 30 off code then to only have some followers dropped to 20% makes no sense. Let’s just move on to some picks. All prices have had 30% off applied.

From the “Groom at a casual summer wedding” post. Still can’t get over the fabric. Very impressive. And again, a great athletic fit. The Luxe cotton polo is just different enough with the contrast collar. Expensive even with the code for a polo, but something you could easily pair with very light (even white?) pants.
.
The classic checked shirt has a decent enough fit, is sturdy enough to pass as a dress shirt and the nontraditional color combination works. Plus it’s already on sale. For the Blazer? You’ve seen it here before. And I love how the reviewer “MtnMan1” from Chattanooga just KILLS this thing for being, to him, too tight. It’s not. It’s just not bulky.
.
Both are already on sale. A warning, the linen cotton blazer is about as unstructured as it gets. Some have emailed saying they like it, others have emailed saying they hate it. I haven’t seen it yet in store. For the polo: SIZE DOWN. I’m a Medium in the Express Signature, but for the tri-blend from Old Navy I’m a small. Fits pretty close to great. 50% poly, 25% cotton and 25%… Rayon. Indeed. Feels like a jersey polo though.
