Sorry non J. Crew designers, if that J. Crew Work bag looks 80% as good in person as it does on the web, that right there is the work bag of the year. Top handles, the over the flap buckle is a stellar details, and at 15″ wide it’s the perfect size for a standard laptop but not huge by any means. This thing just shot to the top of my Christmas list.
The double handles, the over flap buckle strap, the color of the fabric… it’s all on point. It’s the right mix of retro outdoor and modern urban style. J. Crew seems to specialize in that so, no surprise there. But what is surprising is the price. $30 more than the too casual Bowery? Probably could have sold it closer to $200.
The Rugged Twill travel bag is nice too, but, it’s really the Messenger that’s the knockout.
