Land’s End Canvas New Fall Arrivals 2010

Lands’ End Canvas has been one of the biggest affordable men’s style success stories in years.  Lands’ End was the brand your Dad wore.  It was all boxy.  Like brightly colored Eddie Bauer stuff with less character.  But their Canvas line carries the right blend of J. Crew style and traditional Lands’ End Pricing and Simplicity.  Head on over here to the Fall 2010 Preview, then c’mon back for some immediate yes/no knee jerk reaction.

The Pattern Poplin in Gray Sky Check, and the Heritage Stripe V-Neck
The L.E.C. Pattern Poplin, Heritage Stripe V-Neck, and 3-eye Moccasin.

Heritage Stripe Crewneck Tee: $19.50 – No.
Seriously?  $20 for a tee?  Who are you, J. Crew?

Heritage Stripe Oxford: $34.50 – Yes.
Plenty of color options.  It’ll be better when it goes on sale.

Plaid Lightweight Herringbone Work Shirt: $34.50 – No.
Wayyyyy too busy.

Heritage Pattern Poplin: $34.50 – Yes.
Just like the Heritage Stripe Oxford, only a little louder.

Heritage Feeder Stripe V-Neck: $49.50 – Maybe.
Fifty bucks for a sweater is pushing it.

Heritage Stripe V-Neck: $49.50 – Yes.
A little pricey, but those bigger stripes make the difference.

Field Pants: $49.50 – Nope.
Gap Original Khakis will do just fine.

Leather Workboot: $149.50 – No.
Stay slim.  Unless you’re dead set on getting something red-wing like.

3-Eye Moccasins: $98.00 – Yes.
I know the toe is similar to the above work boot, so giving a yes  seems a little hypocritical.  But these are unique.  And the contrast stitching looks great on that shape.  Seeing those makes me think of wool socks and dark beer.

Best in Show – So far?  Has to be those 3-Eye Moccasins.

Uncle Nordy wants this stuff gone. Cashmere sweaters. Lots of chukkas. Plenty of Bonobos.

Has anyone ever worn one of their oxfords? The cut looks atrocious.

I haven’t tried their oxfords, but not really a fan of anything I have picked up yet (including a couple long sleeve shirts that werent oxfords)

I agree that the fit looks horrible. Haven’t been convinced of buying anything in this store yet. The thick stripe v-neck is the only thing that stands out but if the fit isn’t nice and snug its not worth spending $50. The canvas bag also looks nice in blue but also kinda pricey for an average canvas bag.

I’ve bought their oxfords and they are an excellent value for the price. Great slim fitting shirts.
