In case you missed the Citizen that was dropped into the “How to Buy a Tux” feature from last week… here it is again. There’s just something about the contrast between a black leather band, and a white or silver dial on a round dress watch.
The cliche is accessories are the last things you put on, but the first thing someone notices. A guy’s watch can say a lot about him, and a white or silver dial dress watch when worn with a suit looks smart and powerful all at once.
Citizen Eco-Drive Calibre 8700 – $281.25
There’s no shortage of details and features on this light powered model from Citizen. Roman Numerals, Month/day/date perpetual calendar, dual time 24-hour dial, and it’s a chrono. Calendar good through 2100.
Kenneth Cole Iconic Chronograph – $109.00
Easily the watch that delivers the most bang for your buck if you’re looking to buy a white dial black strap chrono. The numerals are small and thin, but still easy to read. It looks kind of like an old school room clock and a flight dial were blended together. Just over $100.
Bulova Mechanical Hand Wind Automatic – $201.41
The fact that this one got left off the list of Top Bulova Watches is something of an embarrassment. The case is a perfect 43mm, the dial is textured, and it’s secured with a push button deployment clasp. Just over $200.
All of these are classic but not stuffy. It’s all about standing out quietly, and these three watches do just that.
