Hugo Boss Silk Pindot Tie – $66.50 | Tie Bar Silk Woven Pindot Tie – $15.99
A pindot tie is the king of all neckwear. Better than solids, even better than simple stripes. When you need to look you’re absolute best, pindots won’t let you down.
They go with solid shirts and suits, they go with striped shirts and suits. A pindot pattern that has some space between the flecks gives a tie texture and depth, without distracting from the rest of your look. They are the quintessential stand out without shouting out tie.
This is probably out of the question for a lot of us, but… consider saving up a bit of money and treat yourself to a pin-dot tie that was made in Italy. It should be good and thick, but not heavy. I had buyers remorse for about two days after I dropped $60 on a similar tie four years ago. Since then I’ve worn it to my wedding, countless important work meetings, and to more than its fair share of big nights out on the town.
I’ve had zero regrets ever since.
(For a MUCH more affordable version, that won’t feel as good but might look almost as nice, try either the black or the Navy slim version from The Tie Bar. They’re only 2.5″ wide so be warned, they’re not real thick.)
