Desert Boots – Guess Alexi $98.00 | U.O. Desert Boot – $58.00 | Steve Madden – $53.21
The problem a lot of guys have with desert boots is that they’re so… plain. The most classic version, the Clark’s Original Desert Boot, is a brown suede upper, brown suede laces, and a totally plain outsole. Terrific for some, completely and totally 100% blah for others. They’re about as close to wearing paper bags on your feet as it gets.
But they’re comfortable, they’re the current choice of casual footwear for stylish guys, and if James Bond can wear em’, so can the rest of us.
Here’s the best three not-too-boring pairs you can find for under $100
Guess Alexi Desert Boot – $98.00
The sole has more of a classic shoe feel, the stitching has contrasting layers, and the pieces of suede come together perfectly. The desert boot even the desert boot hater would love to wear.
Urban Outfitters Desert Boot – $58.00
Is the pre-chipped outsole kinda lame? A bit. But for under $60 you can deal with it. Corded laces, rivets, and contrast stitching make it stand out just enough.
Steve Madden Daiton Boot – $53.21
Steve Madden doing what Steve Madden does best. Tons of color options (Blue Suede?) at half the price.
Some guys still probably won’t totally embrace the casual footwear choice of the moment, but at for under $100 these three non-bland versions of the desert boot might make a believer out of some of the doubters.
