Y’know that feeling you get when you buy something new that’s really great, and you want to shout it from the rooftops, yet you don’t want to be that guy? Come show it off in the Recent Purchases thread. Vicious29 picked up a sleek Christopher Ward watch. Vic took advantage of the latest Allen Edmonds Shoebank sale to grab a pair of the recently featured Warwick single monks in Walnut. LesserBlackDog, who happens to be quite the musician, went for the budget tux option from J. Crew Factory.

 

Best Debate Thread – Yea or Nay to OCBD’s

OCBDs: wardrobe staple or afterthought? Turns out that rumpled fabric and button-down collars are polarizing for some. To some, OCBDs are a perfect in-between – casual shirt, that’s still somewhat refined. Their pedigree adds a classic touch to any outfit. To others, they’re too slouchy. Why reach for an OCBD when you could wear something more casual and go for dress shirts when you need to dress up? Which side do you fall on?

 

Best Advice Thread – Booted and Suited?

Threads are the best place for quick, varied style advice. Brand new paulmanyea posed the question: Can you pull off Red Wing Beckmans with a suit as the groom? Unsurprisingly, the concensus was no. There’s just too much of a contrast between the chunky, rustic look of the Beckmans and the sleek nature of a navy suit. BUT, user LosRockets suggested wingtip boots like the famous Allen Edmonds Daltons.

 

Best Pet Peeve Thread – Price Gouging by Retailers

Dappered is all about maximizing your ROI when it comes to style. However, not everything can be had for a song. For some of us, there’s something that just doesn’t feel right when you pay $77 for a 8″x8″ swatch of cloth. Threads members air their grievances against retailers taking huge margins on items like cufflinks, money clips, razors, sunglasses, luxury watches, and more.

 

What I Wore Today Thread

Lots of guys really brought it in the What I Wore Today thread this month. It’s a great place to find some inspiration on those ugh-what-the-heck-am-I-going-to-wear-today days. Standouts include thecharlesg’s double-breasted navy jacket, JBarwick ‘peacock’ scarf, and JDI’s sharp suits.
