J. Crew 40% – 50% off Sale Items (w/ new additions)

HELLOSALE = 40% – 50% off Sale Items

Eureka. As mentioned yesterday, J. Crew had started to quietly add some new inventory to their sale section over the past few days, yet had been sticking to those limited “select item” sale events, instead of the standard extra % off sale item codes we’re all used to.

That changed this morning.

Punxsutawney Phil might be predicting another full 6 weeks of winter, but the truth is, most don’t have an enormous amount of time left to wear many of these picks below. And a lot it is final sale too. So balance all that when weighing the “to buy, or not to buy?” question. Code HELLOSALE expires this Sunday.

SLIM Merino V-Neck – FINAL? $35.99 – $43.80 ($78)

One off those items you can wear clear into spring. Merino wool, to many, is much better for warm-ish temps than a cotton or cotton cashmere blend. Cotton sweaters don’t hold their shape as well, and hold onto moisture like the dickens (THE DICKENS I SAY). Merino breathes better, and the slim cut here will look nice and trim up above slim chinos or even linen pants. WARNING: Some of the colors available are final sale, some are not. Decent size selection but it’s getting a bit scattered. Also available in a crew neck, or, a super-light weight Italian wool that comes with a hefty markup.

Wallace & Barnes Wool Shawl Collar Sweater – $59.99 FINAL ($128)

From their upgraded quality line Wallace & Barnes. Wool, good sized gauge to the knit, leather elbow patches. Looks like a hell of a sweater for sixty bucks. Could easily replace the turtleneck in this style scenario.

Ludlow Elbow Patch Sportcoat in English Wool – $149.99 FINAL ($328)

Partially un-constructed with a soft shoulder. Style + Fabric + Time of Year + Price = Now or Never for most of us. Professorial, but the slim lapels, slimmer cut, and lower button stance prevent it from looking nerdy or dusty.

Ludlow Sportcoat in Windowpane Scottish Wool – $179.99 FINAL ($388)

Same rationale as above, just with a higher price and less sizes to pick from. Lower patch pockets on this one. Very well reviewed. Also final sale. So unless you’re familiar with Ludlow sizing, best to steer clear.

Brushed Flannel Popover in Herringbone – $35.99 FINAL ($75)

Don’t sleep on these pop-overs, just because the buttons don’t go all the way down the front of the shirt. They’re quite casual, but don’t look or feel sloppy in the least. Plus the brushed fabric is stupid soft. You notice the softness as soon as you pick it up out of the box (or bag). Cut straight across at the hem at a perfect-length to wear untucked. If you’re used to being more dressed up than most, this is a great shirt to wear with jeans and sneakers while out with pals, without looking like a clothes snob. Final sale.

Joshua Ellis for J. Crew Made in the UK Wool/Cashmere Scarf – $77.99 FINAL ($165)

An investment piece (even at the majorly marked down price) for sure, but good gracious, it sure looks like something Cary Grant would have worn. Made in the UK. Chalkstripe on navy lambswool/cashmere blend. 72″ x 15″. Final sale, but the nice thing about scarves is that they (obviously) don’t seem to have sizing issues.

Wide Rib Cashmere Cap – $47.99 FINAL ($98)

Soft csahmere, a chunky knit, and nice and thick. Not a bad way to keep your head and ears warm. Also available in charcoal. Final sale.

SLIM Shirt in Sea Check or Burgundy Tattersall – $29.99 FINAL – $32.70 ($64.50)

These casual, “secret wash” button downs are supremely layerable. Another pick in J. Crew’s closer-to-the-body (and in the sleeves) slim fit. Also available in regular fit and tall. Careful, the Burgundy option is final sale.

Abingdon Laptop Brief in Navy – $55.80 ($98)

The less-fortunate-man’s Filson Original brief. Super friggin’ cheap and well liked by plenty. Look, it’s not gonna last you for the rest of your life, but it could be a nice bridge between you and something nicer (and more expensive) down the line. Doesn’t appear to be final sale.

Broken-in Long Sleeve Pocket Polo – $20.99 FINAL – $26.70 ($49.50)

Not a whole lot to these, but they are extremely comfortable. A jersey cotton instead of a thicker pique. Really lightweight. Three button placket and a pocket. The cheaper shades are final sale.

Ludlow Club Sportcoat in Corduroy – $83.99 FINAL ($198)

Avoids all the pitfalls of a poop-brown, thick-wale, fuzzy cord sportcoat that looks like it was taken straight off the racks of wardrobe for That 70’s Show. This one has a nice cool grey-tone, thinner wale (the lines) of cord, and fits awfully well off the rack. Limited sizes left on this one, just XS, S, and XL at post time. Non-functioning sleeve cuff buttons (like on most Ludlow blazers) make for easy tailoring.

Kenton Suede Wingtips – $124.80 ($248)

If you’re the type who can’t wait to wear his summer suits and hang out on a patio sipping on a drink, then a pair of lighter suede bucks are pretty much a must. Wingtip style here brings more detail to the shoe, yet isn’t too stumpy through the toe thanks to the last J. Crew uses. Goodyear welted.

SLIM Lambswool V Neck or Crew Neck – $23.99 – $35.99 FINAL ($69.50)

Read the reviews on this one. Some are claiming about a weird/wonky fit through the shoulders? It’s a raglan sleeve style, and the collar seems a bit on the thicker side… not sure what would cause the draping issues some are having.

Ludlow Blackwatch Suit Jacket – $191.99 FINAL & Pant – $101.99 FINAL

English wool here. That’s a lot of pattern for a full suit, but more than a few of us could see the jacket being worn on it’s own with jeans, and the pants being worn with a V-neck? It’d have to be a holiday party or something to go full blown suit here, but at under $300 total, it might be just tempting enough for some. Normally $650 for the whole suit. Final sale, so think long and hard about this one if you’re considering it. Also take a look at all the different shots that they provide. The “olive” shade in the pattern looks much more brown in some of the pics, yet more green in the others.

The J. Crew Extra 40%-50% off sale styles code HELLOSALE expires Sunday 2/8.
