FAMILY25 = 25% off at East Dane
East Dane is Amazon’s highly curated, and highly expensive men’s shop. It’s one of those sites that most of us stick to window-shopping while on, but it’s still fun to drop in every once in awhile. And when they offer 25% off, almost site wide, that means many of us drop back in. But, there are exclusions…
Brand Exclusions: 3.1 Phillip Lim, A.P.C., Alexander Wang, Canada Goose, Filson, Hunter, Rag & Bone, WANT Les Essentiels de la Vie, What Goes Around Comes Around Vintage and Wolverine.
DAMMIT. No Filson? No Woverine? Drat. So know that going in. Being that East Dane is an Amazon project, shipping is free both ways, and extra speedy if you’ve got Prime. Here’s just a few picks from their virtual shelves:
Embossed Anchor Bill Flap Wallet – $63.75 ($85)
Embossed anchors. One of Jack Spade’s more unique offerings. Two card slots on one side, plus a center compartment for cash.
Loake Kempton Suede Chukkas – $273.75 ($365)
NOTE: Sizes listed are UK sizes, so, use the conversion chart provided. These are NOT a cheap desert-boot/chukka. What do you get for all that extra cash? Answers over here. Goodyear welted. Super durable. Meanwhile, these can go for a bit cheaper, but more often than not they’re sold by UK retailers. This way you get free shipping & returns. Color shown here might differ slightly than from the brown shade that East Dane is selling, being that Loake seems to make a few different shades of brown for this chukka. Could be the same though.
Billykirk Schoolboy Satchel – $288.75 ($385)
Be warned. As good looking as these things are, they’re smaller than you’d expect. Just 14″ by 10″. This one comes in “brown waxed” and does appear to have a waxed finish to it? Made in the USA.
The James Bond Archives – $150*** ($200)
The last coffee table book (and perhaps first) you’d ever buy. Rare photos, story boards, cast & crew notes… a history of the 50 years of Bond movies. ***NOTE: This is actually cheaper through Barnes & Noble. Heck, even Overstock has it.
Danner Mountain Light Overton Boots – $247.50 ($330)
A blend of functionality and retro hiking boot looks. Full grain suede uppers, gore-tex lined, welted to a vibram sole, and Made in the USA. For those that like to hit the trails, but wouldn’t mind it if their boots were lookers too. No half sizes, and you’re going to want to size down if you’re in-between.
Tsovet SVT-CN38 38MM Watch in Stainless or Brown Pebbled – $150 ($200)
Well that looks awfully familiar. Mucho moola for a Quartz (Swiss) Mineral Crystal (earth’s crust) watch… but it’s a looker. Nice blue hands on that brown strap option, plus the tonal stamp below center at 6 o’clock is a fine touch. For all those who wished more watches were made in the more classic, high 30mm range, this one nails it. Also available in black on black.
Sorel Caribou WL Boots – $120 ($160)
Can snowboots be sexy? No. Well, depends on who’s wearing them (and what else they’re not wearing… aw yeeah. Scare them neighbors good). But if they could be sexy, by themselves, these would be the tops. For those in brutal climates who trudge to work, not walk, during the nasty months.
Persol Steelman Sunglasses – $157.50 ($210)
One of Persol’s cheaper models (yes, that’s “cheap” for Persol) and one of their best. Super underrated. Dressed up enough, but still has some sportiness. Wear them with everything.
FormFunctionForm Button Stud “Minute Man” – $105 or “Sport” – $101.25*
Two of FFF’s beefier Timex options. Can’t seem to find the textured leather band on the FFF site, and that Timex style, with a black dial, is tough to find as well. Liking the combo though, big-time. *NOTE: Looks like you can assemble the “sport” option, on your own, for cheaper? You can find the watch itself through Amazon for $39.41, and the band is $48 through FFF direct.
Grenson Sid Suede Wingtips – $96.75 FINAL ($430)
The wrong season for these, but a screamin’ deal if you think you could pull them off. Just 10 and 10.5 in UK sizes though. Check that size conversion chart. Final sale too. No returns.
The 25% off East Dane friends & family code FAMILY25 expires Saturday 10/18/14.
Anyone have any cheaper recommendations for the Tsovet watch? That seems like an awfully nice and simple casual watch to wear but the price is a little too high for me…
Bought the snow boots. Living in Seattle there isn’t a lot of need, but I’d rather be prepared and have a pair of waterproof grip soles.
I love Jack Spade stuff, but that card holder looks like a brownie to me. I do like the Angus Young School Boy Satchel tho.
It would be hard to buy that Timex Sport when you can get an Orient Ray or Mako and a nice leather NATO for just a bit more. I guess assembling it yourself for cheaper is better, but…

Such cheap. Much sexy. Wow.
I passed on a pair of those Persols about 5 years ago at Nordstrom Rack for $70….have regretted every day since! As an aside, Nordstrom Rack is a great place to drop by and check out the sunglasses rack.
Does anyone else think the stitching on the Tsovet straps clash with the dial a bit?
My Uncle ;Oliver just got gold Dodge Challenger SRT8 Core by w0rking parttime 0n COMPUTER from home. navigate to this website

At first I looked at them and thought, I could buy those as party sunglasses (to be worn with things like my American flag Chubbies, etc.), but then I saw the price. No wonder the price is so small on the page.
You can’t put a price on patriotism….. …
you can depict it with a picture though.

Those snow boots are as good looking as snow boots get. As a guy who’s going to spend a decent amount of time outside in the snow this winter, I’m intrigued greatly.
I do not get longwings at all. Suede, spectator-y longwings? Best of luck you guys.
Same. Does anyone know if that is a good price for them? I have never looked into Sorel boots, or any other snowboots for that matter.
I want to buy them so badly, but am behaving (fiscally, at least) after a very expensive vacation / sibling’s wedding excursion. I would get so much use out of them too…
Snowboots-in my experience- are fairly expensive for a solid pair that will last a few years. I’m not sure what the build quality is on those Sorel’s, but you’re looking at about $150 for really good snowboots. So $120 for an actual attractive pair of snowboots is fairly cheap.
‘Merica. *wipes away a single tear*
My local store has Ray-Bans for $70!
Just bought them. I blame you! Haha, that loosely translates into “Thank you!”. I have prime so they offer free 2 day shipping and returns. I’ll just buy it and return if I don’t really like them.
Can someone help me understand why the Danner boots lace all the way down to the toe? It must be a functional thing, but I’ve never figured it out.
Thanks for that! Looks good but looking at reviews it seems that everyone says it wears around 40mm. Do you know any similar models with a a crown that wears jus about 38mm?
