Sales that deserve some attention heading into the weekend, or sometimes, a bit earlier. Might not be some massive once a year event, but still worth a look. Those are what make up these handfuls. Expect these things when necessary. Five of the better sales, one for each finger, are below. Included are a few picks worth pointing out.
The Picks: Ludlow Navy Velvet Shawl Collar Sportcoat – $246 ($328)… Wait, hang on a second. Stop the handful.
They brought back last year’s velvet shawl collar Ludlow blazer?
And the 25% off code even works on it?
It really is something else in person. That’s a pic from last year, but that image shows off a bit more of the sezexahy than the bright plaid tie they styled it up with this year. Also, this year the description says it’s “hudson navy”… so, not sure if that’s any lighter than last year’s option. Look, it’s not something you’re going to wear everyday. And Mid $200s is a lot to drop on one blazer you might wear 5-10 times a year (think holiday parties, New Year’s Eve, Valentine’s day, etc…), but it’s pretty slick if you can pull it off. Anyway…
back to the picks: Ludlow Sportcoat in Blackwatch Cotton – $171 ($228), Marled Lambswool Crew – $52.13 ($69.50), (and in case that navy shawl is too boring) Ludlow Burgundy Velvet Contrast Peak Lapel Sportcoat – $246 ($328)
The Picks: Dark Grey Quilted Jacket – $74.99 ($99), Leather Zip Boots – $74.95 ($99)
Not the largest selection, but some of H&M’s cheap, seasonal stuff, just got even cheaper. Prices are good until 10/24, or until they blow through the stock they got. That quilted jacket is a very, very affordable option for those who don’t want to shell out for Barbour-level prices.
Good gravy. When’s the last time Target did a site wide free shipping offer? And combine that with 25% off men’s? Not bad at all. If you source some basics from Target, yet hate running to the brick & mortar, now’s not a bad time to stock up. It’ll come to you, rather than you having to navigate the parking lot/streets to go to it.
The Picks: Haberdash Bespoke 607 Half-Canvas Angelico Blazer – $331.99 ($498), Haberdash Bespoke 607 Alfred Plaid Peak Lapel Jacket – $331.99 ($498)
WARNING: Haberdash only gives out store credit or exchanges for stuff on discount. So know that going in. If you have questions about sizing, you can give TJ a call at 312.624.8551 and he’ll take care of you. That blazer is still pretty pricey, even with the discount, but it’s a half-canvas made in Canada blazer that should be a workhorse in your wardrobe for years to come. Nice ticket pocket too. Want something a bit louder, without getting completely insane? Try the Alfred Plaid jacket. Matching pants are available too.
No Red Wings or Wolverine 1000 Milers, but there is a very nice selection of Made in the USA Original Chippewa boots that are up for the discount. First shown yesterday, those 6″ service boots in a cordovan-shade of leather (not shell cordovan leather) are friggin’ drool-worthy. Same leather is available in a moc-toe boot as well. Many thanks to reader Joe for sending in the style tip about how Suitsupply has added a basic, foundation-worthy, solid navy Napoli fit to their limited $399 line. Excellent stuff, and just in time for the annual $1500 wardrobe series of posts. That’ll launch on Monday.
