Consider this week five days of saying thank you. Without your readership, your emails, your terrific comments, and your willingness to spread the word, Dappered wouldn’t exist. The collection of good guys who frequent this corner of the internet is by far the greatest achievement of this website. And to say thank you, we’ve put together five, splurge-worthy giveaways that’ll hopefully express our gratitude. Welcome to Dappered’s Reader Appreciation Week. Good luck, and thanks a million.
To say that Cordovan leather is sought after would be an obvious understatement. Hugely desirable, Cordovan is hyper-durable, wildly smooth, and visually deep. But it takes quite a bit to get there. As in, it takes six months to transform a horse hide to this finished leather. The material itself is a piece of natural art.
The master of Cordovan is the Chicago based Horween Leather Company, and it’s their amazing shade of burgundy cordovan that has been cut and sewn into this pair of Park Avenue oxfords.
Equally good with navy and grey suits, they’re a classic cap toe in a slightly unexpected color. Instead of the standard brown, you get major hints of deep red with these. Like a big, flavorful, bottle of (red, naturally) wine.
Classic cap toe. Triple stitching sweeps up, over, and across the vamp. Six pairs of eyelets means you can easily use super slick-looking bar lacing. Built on the Goodyear-welted 65 last, they’re a shoe with a timeless shape, made in a retina beckoning shade.
The step-by-step Horween Cordovan process.
The Allen Edmonds Park Avenue will celebrate it’s 35th anniversary next year. That’s a long time. And between the durability and classic design, chances are this pair of shoes will serve its owner for quite a long time as well. Maybe even long past the time this website ceases to exist. If you end up as the winner, think of us kindly, won’t you?
Enter here to win a pair of Allen Edmonds Burgundy Shell Cordovan Park Avenues in your size. One entry per person. Deadline for entry is 11:59 pm ET 9/9/14. Thanks to Allen Edmonds for providing not just Park Avenues, but Cordovan Park Avenues for Reader Appreciation Week. And speaking of cordovan, know that due to the limited availability of the stuff (cordovan), it might take 6-8 weeks for Allen Edmonds to deliver the winner’s (or, any regular ol’ customer’s) pair.
UPDATE: Congrats to Jeremy S. who won the random drawing for a pair of these Burgundy Shell Cordovan Park Avenue oxfords from Allen Edmonds! Once again, thanks a million to Allen Edmonds for participating in reader appreciation week.
