Sales that deserve some attention heading into the weekend, or sometimes, a bit earlier. Might not be some massive once a year event, but still worth a look. Those are what make up these handfuls. Expect these things when necessary. Five of the better sales, one for each finger, are below. Included are a few picks worth pointing out.
Minimal exclusions on this one. Full review of the jeans over here. Those brunson blazers have potential to be a casual staple, but will they have functioning sleeve buttons? And will the tail be chopped? Didn’t see them in store the other day. Did see the Bedford pant though, and despite being under the “cords” section, they’re not cords. More of a canvas cloth pant with some texture. Not fuzzy. UPDATE: Many thanks to Brandon for providing the GAPFAM code, which anyone can use. Don’t need to be a cardmember.
The Picks: Marco Vittorio Single Monks – $125.99 ($179.99), Marco Vittorio Medallion Toe Oxford – $122.49 ($179.99) , Florsheim Gaffney Boot – $104.99 ($149.99)
Blame the new Made in the USA Joseph Abboud suits for putting Men’s Wearhouse kinda sorta back on the ol’ radar. No clue about these “Marco Vittorio” shoes, but the Italian leather uppers and sheepskin linings are a positive sign. A Men’s Wearhouse employee did a quick review on Ask Andy back in 2010, and they might be decent for the low $100s price. And is the sole stitched on those single monks? Or just an elaborate fake welt?
The Picks: Twill Swiss Brief – $139 ($375), Waxwear Travel Kit – $59 ($145), Waxwear Credit Card Holder – $29 ($68), Waxed Twill Winged Duffel – $199 ($495) ALL ITEMS FINAL SALE
Two things here: #1. Jack Spade is currently running ads on Dappered for this sale. But, they didn’t pay to be in the handful. Seemed worth a mention. So full disclosure there #2. You might have to hand over an email address + zip code to see all the goods. That’s not going to be loved by everyone. But there’s some solid markdowns in there for those who appreciates the Jack Spade Modern, but not boring aesthetic. Sale ends today, 8/7/14.
The Pick: Jetsetter Wool/Cotton Blazer in Navy – $398.00
We’re kinda in summer-clearance / early fall arrivals no-man’s land right now. This isn’t a sale, but instead, Bonobos just got a bunch of new arrivals in that are worth a browse. Something to keep an eye on for future sales. Especially that 70% wool, bemberg lined, patch pocket but no brass/gold buttons “travel” blazer. Yikes. And that yikes applies to the looks (positive!) and the full retail price (ouch, but, there’s gotta be sales & codes to consider?).
The Pick: Red Cloud Collective Made in the USA Briefcase – $249.99 ($299)
