The Eliminator – Five from Huckberry
Here’s how this works: Each day we’ll eliminate one item until only one is left standing at the end of the week. Vote for the item you’d LEAST like to own in the poll at the bottom of the page. The item with the most votes gets eliminated at the end of the day. The item that remains at the end of this battle royal will be won by one of you, via an enter to win post firing off on Friday.
About Huckberry: It’s not easy to stand out in the world of flash sale websites, but Huckberry does it. With an emphasis on the outdoors and active lifestyle gear, they nail the upscale-rugged thing. Also, their sales are often filled with made in the USA goods. All of these items are either currently available, or, have recently been available through Huckberry. May the best item win!

Satchel & Page Pilot’s Bag – $376.98 ($470)
The kind of bag that might have you stopped by TSA and/or other travelers simply so they can admire your carry-on. Made in Austin from Vegetable Tanned leather, copper rivets and antique brass hardware. Lifetime warranty too. 11″ x 19″ x 9″ which checks in at 1881 cubic inches… therefore you won’t have to check it with the airline. The sort of bag that can hold your in-cabin essentials and then some, or a weekend’s worth of gear for those that pack lean.
Taylor Stitch Denim: Straight Leg – $128 or Slim Fit – $128
American crafted jeans made from 13.5 oz Japanese Sanforized raw denim. Straight or slim fit, that’s up to you. Button fly, red contrast interior stitch, and canvas pockets that are anything but wimpy. Well built, American made, hard wearin’ jeans.
Randolph Engineering Aviators in Gold/Grey – $124 (189)
Made in the USA from the finest components, Randolph Engineering strives to “stand as the example by which others are considered.” Classic design. Has been supplying the U.S. military with eyewear for 30+ years. Bridge: 55 mm. Temple: 140 mm.
Filson Original Briefcase Navy – $248.00
Few briefcases will stand out in our business-casual world, but the Filson Original brief is one of them. “Might as well have the best” is their slogan, and their quality is second to none. 16″ wide. Now available in a very professional looking navy canvas. Made in the USA.
Daniel Wellington “Bristol” Rose Gold – $229.00
Simplicity & class in a rose-gold toned case. Super slim & minimalist, but not boring. Proof that a watch can be plenty eye catching without the clunky wrist-clock size others depend on. 40mm in diameter and just 6 mm thick. Japanese quartz movement.
Here comes the tough part. Pick the item that you’d LEAST like to win and vote below to have it eliminated. One item gets cut every day. The item that’s left at the end of the week will be up for one of you to win on Friday. Make your case for what needs to stay in the comments, but let’s keep this positive and skip any mudslinging. These are all terrific items, and many thanks to Huckberry and the brands for being on board with The Eliminator. Voting closes at 11:59pm ET.

I’m not able to vote. Any idea why?
I think it’ll be difficult for people to explain why they DON’T want something without being negative. It’ll be an interesting contest. That said, my vote today goes for the sunglasses, simply because they’re not polarized and they lack spring hinges.
That Pilot’s Bag is slick.
Though it’s way too early to tell for sure, it looks like the Pilot’s Bag is going to be the last man standing.
Sorry aviators, I wear prescription sunglasses *click*
It SHOULD be. By far the most handsome and valuable piece in this list.
Ditto here – aviators are nice but I wear prescription only. Gone
Rose gold is nice for a watch, but even nicer when it’s a simple, minimal watch.
Honestly this is a great lineup. Picking one I don’t want is tough. Have to go with the denim (just b/c its summer). I actually have too many sunglasses as it is, but those are sharp. Would happily take home anything on this list.
Yup. “Worn by pilots” (who are required to have perfect or better-than-perfect vision) but not by me.
Not a fan of the pants so they get my first vote and as someone who wears prescription glasses as well, the aviators gotta go next!
Then I already have a clean and beautiful watch so it gets my vote next.
Both bags are insanely good though, this will be a tough one!
While nice, the sunglasses are not practical for those us who require prescription eye wear for everything except sleep and showering lol. The Pilot’s bag is very nice, as is the watch and the briefcase
Big fan of that DW Bristol
DAMN that’s a fine fine FINE list.
For me:
• Pilot bag is nice, but I really want it in a Weekender Bag size.
• Navy brief case – Nice, but canvas doesn’t do it for me. Being older, toting a canvas bag to work makes me feel like i’m pretending to be younger than I am.
• Love the sunglasses. I wear contacts on the weekend. That’s when I wear my Aviators, the SILVER ones. Sorry no gold.
• Being a watch guy, I like the Daniel Wellington on a intellectual watch geek level, but it’s just a bit too minimal for my personal tastes.
• I just bought two pairs of Levi’s 501’s and really really love them. My curiosity about the Taylor Stitch Denim has piqued my interest…and desire!
So with that i’m voting out all, to keep the denim. Honestly I don’t think it will make it, but that’s my logic for y’all.
Someone’s gonna win that pilots bag.
I don’t understand. why not just take them to your eye doctor? when I bring in outside frames, lenses usually run $60-$100, depending on what I need on them.
Yeah, I wear prescription glasses, too, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want a great set of frames that I can put my own lenses in.
Is this a thing most places do? I don’t even buy glasses from my eye doctor in the first place — he recommends going somewhere else, rather than the built-in shop at his office.
Nice lineup. Canvas or leather, I’ll take either bag.
Stuck between the Denim and the watch and ended up with the watch selection. TOO clean.
Jeans: no thank you.
Those aviator frames are better and cheaper than the ones most opticians sell. Ship ’em off to 39 Dollar Glasses and they’ll replace them with your prescription for a most reasonable price.
Calling it now:
1. Filson bag.
2. Pilot’s bag.
3. DW watch.
4. Taylor Stitch jeans.
5. RE Aviators.
Definitely an amazing bag, but I’d rather have the Filson.
Agreed; be very surprised if it is not the one we get to fight over.
Actually a little confused. Is everyone in their emailing list entered in or only those that vote?
Anyways that Filson bag is the most interesting to my eye, the jeans look nice, but not an item I am looking for.
That is an amazingly honest doctor.
Love those Randolph’s!
This is an easy one. Like many I need prescription glasses so the Aviators are out first. As for the jeans maybe its just a bad product photo, but I wouldn’t walk around wearing pants like that. The watch is just OK, not a fan of rose gold or quartz. So then it comes down to the bags, and the pilots bag is the keeper for me!
Love the pilot bag. Hands down winner for me.
Have to say… Huckberry disappoints when it comes to outdoor gear. They are featuring the jacked up overpriced wall hanger fluff from the likes of Bush Smarts.
So I’m gonna have to single-handedly ensure that the aviators survive the next few rounds so I get a chance to win them just because you guys all wear prescriptions? Oh well, I’ll keep my mouse finger at the ready then…
i like the canvas bag, although ill prob never use it
But then I’d be taking someone I won for free and putting money into it. Kind of defeats the purpose. GIMME DAT FILSON
Cut the Taylor Stitch Denim.
Not a fan of the pilot’s bag.
