Win it: The Orient Flight Automatic

Orient Flight – $206.50 w/ dappered30 ($295)

That code is good for 30% off, and also gets you the Orient “freebie” package, which includes a quartz watch of Orient’s choosing and a lanyard. Thanks to Orient for providing a new code.

UPDATE: Heads up. These are going for $149 on Amazon but not sold or fulfilled by Amazon. No experience with that 3rd party retailer. Many thanks to Samuel for the note in the comments.

Some have a thing for bright blue eyes, and some have a thing for blue dial watches. And Orient nailed it with this darker but still noticeably blue shade on their new aviation-inspired pilot watch.

The “Flight” automatic isn’t limited to a blue dial either. Five total variations include three other face shades (green, black, and cream) and all have a few styling cues you’d expect on an aviation inspired watch. There’s the triangle at 12 o’clock, the dominance of the minutes instead of the hours on the face, and the instrument panel style luminescent hands & numerals. At center is the Orient logo. Their coat of arms jumps nicely against the blue background. Has to be one of the more interesting looking logos out there.

There’s no flieger rivets on this one, but the strap is noticeably thicker. The in-house automatic movement and brushed, stainless steel case are light on the wrist. Orient says this one has the standard around 40-hr power reserve when fully wound.

The water resistance of 100m is solid, there’s a screw down crown, and while it doesn’t hack or have a sapphire crystal (mineral here) it feels like another well put together Orient automatic.

42mm in diameter that wears about that size if not a bit larger. No rotating bezel or exhibition caseback. So it doesn’t have a ton of bells & whistles, but it’s a looker and then some. Pilot watch inspired for sure, but it’s not trying to look like it just landed at an airshow.

Enter here to win the blue-dial Flight seen above. One entry per person. Deadline for entry is 11:59 pm ET 8/28/13. Thanks as always to Orient for providing the watch.

UPDATE: Congrats to Brandon B. who won the Orient Flight Automatic!
