The Glamour & The Squalor and the ways we mess with Mother Nature.

CONSEQUENCES: One more reason to say no to that third (fourth) cocktail. You’re going to need those grey cells.

I THINK I’M ABOUT TO STEP IN IT: If there is one thing I’ve learned since the introduction of The Dossier, it is this: some things get you guys going. This is probably going to be one of those some things. Also, I am just a messenger. Also again, I need to have a chat with my doc about this very subject.

THEN THERE’S THIS.

I SEE WHAT YOU DID THERE. BARELY.

Speaking of well appointed birds, you really must check out these specimens.

APP OF THE WEEK? I don’t know if this is something I would actually use but at first glance, call me intrigued.

TWO WORDS: Meg Ryan. Two more: no kidding.

DISNEY DOES FAMILY PLANNING WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM DONALD:

Wherein the people behind the “Happiest Place On Earth” offer up some advice about wrapping things up. From 1968. Imagine this happening now. No, go ahead. I’ll wait.

FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF NOBODY SAW THIS COMING: Perhaps he’ll introduce a new Prime delivery model? This bit of news has the whole newspaper business chattering. And for what it’s worth, I am strangely enthusiastic about this. On the other hand, I honestly have no idea, as in, I am totally unqualified to know what this means.

PROTEIN IS PROTEIN? This is one of the biggest news stories of the week. And I am really having a hard time separating the real practical applications and possibilities from the immediate “eew” factor. Also, damn that’s expensive.

CHEERS.

MESSING WITH MOTHER NATURE: So let’s say you forget to slather on the SPF and roast your hide. There are consequences. And often they are painful. But what are the consequences of having some kind of get-out-of-jail-free option courtesy of science?

MESSING WITH MOTHER NATURE PART 2: Have we totally unbalanced our immune system? How do you know if you have an allergy or just a cold? This might clear things up. Or not…

INCOMING:

This is the trailer for a documentary about someone who remains one of my favorite people from a really memorable part of my life. He was an integral part of the Seattle music scene of the early 90’s. I’m really happy that he made it through difficult times and come out just as funny and smart and dedicated to supporting and sharing the music and talents of those who inspire him.
