  1. If the only imperfections are missing buttons on the cuffs and it’s 20% off I would still go for it, especially if it stacked with other sales.

  3. I did see that it was French cuff, just wasn’t sure if they still had buttons or not (don’t have any of my own, and my previous comment stands for normal shirts).
    Though you’d think when the whole shipment lacked buttons though they would realize they aren’t all “damaged”.

  5. The person that returned it is either brilliant (wear the shirt, then return it because it’s “defective”) or completely in the dark (it’s a French/double cuff).

    The person that accepted the return either wanted to make the customer happy, or didn’t know any better about the cuff.

    Either way, 20% off is not enough for me at BR when a 30% or 40% is perpetually just around the corner or online.

  10. Some French cuff shirts come with buttons sewn into the cuff – to assist in holding the cuff in place while you fumble with the cuff links. Could also refer to the two-button/placeholder/cuff link surrogates that are often included.

    Admittedly, that’s a hefty chunk of benefit for a tiny slither of doubt, but ’tis the season of giving gents.

  17. In fairness to BR, I once bought a french cuff shirt from them, and it did have buttons — two buttons held together with thread that acted as an ersatz cufflink. I’m guessing that’s what the tag is referring to.

  18. I was wondering the same thing, if possibly it’s in reference to the placeholder links that the shirt comes with. But wouldn’t they maybe have extras? Y’know, if people take em’ out and they hit the floor while someone’s trying it on? Beats me…
