Takes 30% off factory sale items as well. Careful of the “final” sale items though, you can’t return those.
J. Crew offered free shipping yesterday (Labor Day). Which was nice. This is better. So we got that goin’ for us.
Stock is a little limited on the J. Crew side but there are some finds. Factory has a bunch of their newer stuff “on sale” which is what you need for the code MUSTSHOP to work. Keep an eye out for final sale items.

So it’s not a Ludlow. So what? Lapels on suits are starting to widen out, jackets are getting a bit longer, and under $400 for a half-canvassed J. Crew suit is a steal. That’s less than a Suit Supply. These ship free and don’t appear to be final sale (but be careful, your size might be.) The Ludlow has a 2.25″ lapel, shorter jacket, and is cut slimmer off the rack. The Aldridge has a 2.75″ lapel, doesn’t have as short of a jacket, and comes with a little more room off the rack. We’re talking half an inch for the lapel, and when it comes to the jacket… you’ll get it tailored anyway, right? Pants might need some slimming for some. Might be worth the risk of return shipping.
Oh but there’s a catch. Tons of sizes in the jacket, but hardly any in the pant (35 was the smallest waist size as of post time.) Too bad too. Could have been a terrific steal at this sub $400 price.
It’s the poor or sweaty man’s rugby. Super lightweight, under $30 (which is still kinda expensive, but it’s J. Crew… ) and a go-to shirt for those warmer than you had expected fall weekends.
And there it is, the first real deep sale on the new J. Crew Factory Thompson suits. 100% wool, has a bit of a rougher texture to it, but for a shade over $200 it’s as good as it gets. Minimal shoulder padding, nice off the rack contour, decently high arm-holes, good buttons, etc… Pants can feel a little loose and might need some slimming. Full review over here. (Meanwhile, the 80/20 poly version has dipped under $200. Most sizes are available on that one.)
Definitely more rugged than polished, but if you’re hooked on jackets, this is a casual one you can wear just about anywhere without looking dressed up. Three button front, elbow patches, throat tab/latch, and thicker 8-wale (note: when it comes to corduroy, the higher the number of wale, the smaller the lines of cord.) all make it more of a hunting style jacket than a dressed up blazer. Great grey color. Pretty sure a couple of you guys have this and seem to like it?
Dirt cheap at seventeen bucks. Don’t worry too much bout the logo. Use it as a layering shirt. Under v-necks, under blazers, under cardigans (if you’re the man-cardigan type), whatever. Lots of sizes.
Now a little lower than what it was during the extra 30% off sale from last month. Word is the Herringbone Sportcoat is lacking in quality. Anyone get their hands on this one yet? Got one on the way for an in-person. Shown is last year’s model, which was outstanding. Full review of that one over this way.
The sale code MUSTSHOPT expires on Friday 9/7/12. Again, be careful of the final sale stuff.
