Allen Edmonds Rediscover America Sale

Allen Edmonds Rediscover America Sale: 15% – 30% off Everything

The Allen Edmonds Rediscover America Sale is an interesting one.  Almost their entire site is on sale, but they’ve also set aside a handful of shoes and have marked them down to the “best prices of the year.”  They say there’s 13 of these extra marked down shoes (13 original colonies perhaps?) but there’s actually 15.  Picks below marked with a ** are part of this lowest-prices-of-the-year group.  Others that seem to have decent enough markdowns as well as a few select new arrivals that you wouldn’t think would be ripe for big discounts for awhile have also been included.

UPDATE:  Full marks to Eric in the comments for pointing out that Amazon has some of these shoes on sale as well, plus you can lump a $50 off $200 code 2012FALL on them if they’re sold through Amazon.  Not all colors/sizes are available at Amazon, and in fact selection is very scattered over there.  But it’s absolutely worth a look to see if you’ll get lucky.

Fifth Avenue – $229.00**($335)
Standing out quietly.  Now more than $100 off.

One of their flagship shoes that won’t ever go out of style.  Built on the trimmer 5 last which is the same platform the Strand and the newer more modern Neumok sits on.  Allen Edmonds describes it as “…the longest in length of all of our lasts; best for a long, narrow foot.”  But they’re also made in wide widths, so wide foots take solace.  Black, burnished brown, and walnut available.  The belle of the markdowns ball at just over 30% off.

Haight Chelsea Boot – $269.00** ($350)
Suit worthy on a bad weather day.

Oof.  That has to be one of if not the best looking chelsea boot out there.  Does have a bit of a chisel toe but the corners on it round out nicely.  Dainite rubber sole with its mini studs.  Big fan of the addition of a medallion.  Now 23% off, but still a big investment at $270.

Norwich Monk Strap – $259.00** ($345)
The monk for the non monk fan?

As subtle as a monk strap can get.  Not a double monk with some super slim profile, but a single plain-toe monk strap that’s slightly elongated.  Yet it still has those familiar AE proportions.  Not cheap, but cheaper.  Now 25% off.
Note:  This is one of those that you might have some luck with over at Amazon.  The code 2012FALL drops them another fifty bucks, to $209.

Cronmok – $219.00** ($275)
Also available in a dark brown and a blue.

Not quite down to the magical under $200 price point.  A new arrival.  More of a risk of  than the Dalton for sure, which is going for a full one hundred dollars more than the Cronmok during the sale.  Now 20% off.

Neumok – $212.50 ($250)
Six total colors available, including a (wait for it) brown.

The Cronmok’s shorter brother.  Peacockin’ but not cocky.  The Neumok is one of the Allen Edmonds models that shows AE won’t get dusty as time goes on.  They’re willing to take risks.  Greenish-olive with blue laces might not flip every skirt, but with enough color options and an extra pair of laces, the Neumok could easily find a home in anyone’s collection.  IF, and it’s a big if, you’re willing to throw down $212 on a pair of unlined casual wingtips.  More photos and a full review here.  Now 15% off.

McTavish – $229.00** ($295)
The very dressed up casual shoe.

The black leather and brown toasted sole McTavish wingtip has been a bit of a siren song around these parts for awhile.  They were way down to $196.90 during the Nordstrom anniversary sale, and more than a few of us are kicking ourselves with our non McTavish clad feet for not jumping on that price then.  Brooks Brothers also sells the very similar “Allen Edmonds Contrast Wingtip” and with the Friends and Family code FNFBB1, they’re now down to $223.50.  But AE chips in free shipping and returns, so… it’s a bit of a wash.  Now 22.4% off.
NOTE:  These are another pair that’s worth investigating over at Amazon.  If Amazon is selling your size and color combo, the code 2012FALL drops them to  a very nice $179.

Black Hills – $219.00** ($275)
Bit of a freak shoe. A beautiful freak.

Say you’re the guy in your dressed down office who likes to dress up.  And your office happens to be in Bemidji.  Here’s your shoe.  Now 20% off.

Eagle County – $297.50 ($350)
Available in black or tan.

Still pretty pricey at almost $300, but you’ve got to wonder if this’ll spark some kind of border war between Wisconsin and Minnesota.  Now 15% off.

Combination Shoe Trees – $19.99 ($24.50)
Like a reverse bra for your kicks. Or something.

Now would probably be a good time to remind everyone that Allen Edmonds provides free shipping no minimum on purchases.  If you have a Nordstrom Rack brick and mortar store near you, you can probably find a pair of shoe trees for around $15, but if you’re without one of those and want some smooth operating shoe trees from the web, these would be them.

Horsehair Brush – $5.95 ($7.00) and Dauber – $2.55 ($3.00)
Still made in the USA.

Awfully nice of them to provide the free shipping.  If your brush stinks, or you’re using those old plastic handled fake sponge daubers, consider the upgrade for the minimal cost.  Remember on the daubers, it’s $2.55 per, not for a pair.  Update: looks like the daubers are now out of stock.

The Allen Edmonds Rediscover America Sale ends Tuesday October 9th.
