Win it: The Orient Explorer Automatic Dual Time

In Person: The Orient Explorer Automatic – $455 w/ SUMMER2012 ($650)

Consider this week of giveaways a thanks. Without your readership, your emails, your terrific comments, and your willingness to spread the word, Dappered wouldn’t exist. The collection of good guys who frequent this corner of the internet is by far the greatest achievement of this website. Good luck, and once again, thanks a million.

Easily the most asked about item ever featured on Dappered.  Whenever it shows up here on the site, or when it’s worn in person, there’s a decent chance that someone will ask about it.

Instead of a third subdial, the second time zone function is displayed through a cutout around 9 o’clock.  The designers slickly push your attention that way with a barely raised pie-piece shape radiating from the center.  Case diameter is listed at 44.5mm, but it wears much smaller.

And then there’s the build of the watch.  Sapphire case, the movement feels incredibly solid as you click through the options with the crown pulled out, and it comes with an exhibition case back.  Details like etched logos on the crown, and a smooth moving interior bezel also point to this being one extremely well made watch.

40-hr power reserve winds quickly and seems to last longer than that, being that it’s only run out on me two or three times in the almost year I’ve owned one.  But then again, it rarely spends more than a day or two off my wrist.

Win it: To enter to win The Orient Explorer, send your first and last name in an email to contests@dappered.com w/ the subject: “Explorer”.  One entry per person.  Winner is drawn at random.  Deadline: 11:59pm E.T. on Sun. 8/5/12.  Good luck, and thanks to Orient for providing one of their top of the line watches for Reader Appreciation Week.

UPDATE:  Congrats to Lawrence L. who won the Explorer!  Thanks to Orient, & all involved in last week
