Win it: Any Indochino 2-Piece Essential Suit

In Person: Indochino’s Essential Collection – $379.00

Consider this week of giveaways a thanks.  Without your readership, your emails, your terrific comments, and your willingness to spread the word, Dappered wouldn’t exist.  The collection of good guys who frequent this corner of the internet is by far the greatest achievement of this website.  Good luck, and once again, thanks a million.

There’s a hidden cost in just about every suit purchase.  That cost is the extra tailoring that’s needed after you get it off the rack/out of the box and on your body.  It’s almost impossible to find a suit that’ll fit perfectly off the rack.  And if you’ve got some odd measurements, or you need to hack up a suit with major alterations, you’re going to be shelling out a ton of cash to look your best.

Indochino eliminates that extra cost with a two pronged attack.  The first step is they try and get you a perfect fitting suit, right out of the box, made just for you off measurements you’ve provided them.

Indochino’s Essential Solids.  More on the gray here, and you can see more of the navy here.

And if that out of the box fit happens to not be perfect?  They’ll provide you with a $75 re-tailoring credit.  Have the alterations done, send them a scanned copy of the receipt, and they’ll credit your credit/debit card account up to $75.  That closes the cost gap between department store suits greatly.  Spend $250 on a hard shouldered with lower than you’d like arm holes department store brand, then drop another $40 – $75 on tailoring, and you’re just about even with what an Indochino costs when you take their re-tailoring credit into consideration.  And their shoulder pads are pretty minimal, with arm holes that offer really good movement.

Not fully canvased, but not a standard fused job either, according to Indochino the lining is “sewn to the interlining, then the interlining is fused to the interfacing.”  That combination keeps costs down, the price down, and makes for an awfully comfortable, upgraded feel in the jacket for the majority of us who don’t have a problem with fused suit.

And then there’s the not so basics.  Still fully customizable, still $379, still up for winning.  Tuxes too.

Since it’s custom, you’re not limited to a certain type of lapel, or whether or not the sleeve buttons will be functional.  Pick your lining color, have it monogrammed, and options like side tabs instead of belt loops, a ticket pocket, and a ton of others are in play at no extra cost.  Want a midnight blue, shawl collar tux with suspender buttons?  Sure thing.  You can have it for $379.  You can also try to win it, or any of the other 2-piece essentials (see below)…

Win it: To enter to win any of Indochino’s $379 2-piece essential suits, send your first and last name in an email to contests@dappered.com w/ the subject: “Essential”.  One entry per person.  Deadline: 11:59pm E.T. 8/1/12.  Good luck, and thanks to Indochino for providing one of their suits  for Reader Appreciation Week.

UPDATE:  Congrats to Andrew M. who won the random drawing for any of Indochino’s Essential 2-Piece suits.
