A code worth an extra 30% off sale/factory sale happens with some regularity.  40% off doesn’t.  It’s rare and only happens a few times a year.  But now that we’re halfway through July, Fall items are starting to breathe down the collective necks of all the linen, seersucker, and lightweight summer stuff.  But thankfully, there’s more than just that purely summer stuff on sale…

J. Crew Factory Thompson Suit Jacket & Pant – $189.60 total (Low $20os – $318)

You won’t find a better fitting, feeling, or looking suit for under $200.  Minimal shoulder padding and a great off the rack fit.  80% wool, 20% poly, 0% scratchy feel or cheap look.  Has a bit of a heathered look to the fabric which makes it interesting, but still completely conservative office/event appropriate.  The best affordable suit of 2011.  Full review here.  A favorite.

 

J. Crew Aldridge Italian Chino Suit Jacket + Matching Pant = $207.60 ($456)

More than a few of us still have a summer wedding or two to attend this year.  But leave time to get this thing tailored.  Comes in their more generous “Aldridge” fit, so you might need to get some work done on the sides.  Available in the khaki “wheat” color, or the much lighter “stone.”

 

J. Crew MacAllister Suede – $59.99 ($135) | MacAllister Oiled – $59.99 ($148)

Wow.  Under $60 for an Italian made boot that can be resoled.  That’ll do nicely.  The Suede has some size gaps (unless you have smaller feet then you’re good to go) but the MacAllister Oiled seems to have plenty of common sizes still available.  For now.

 

J. Crew Cashmere Crewneck Sweater – $59.99 ($225)

Your guess is as good as mine as to why this camel colored “heather toffee” is marked down to $99, but the other colors (like pink?) aren’t.  A warm honey colored camel/beige like this looks outstanding over a white OCBD with dark jeans and a pair of darker brown boots, like the MacAllisters above.  A final sale item, and one of those “doesn’t ship till October” things.

 

J. Crew Thompkins Pant in Slim Straight Fit – $47.99 ($98)

Watch yourself here if you’ve got some thickness below the knee.  Fit gets reportedly pretty slim down there.  5 pocket pant that could be the middle ground between jeans and work chinos.  They have done some serious washing/finishing to give them a vintage look.  Final sale on these.

 

J. Crew Secret Wash Lightweight Solid or Gingham Shirt – $23.99 ($64.50)

J. Crew shirts for Target prices?  Sure.  Might be something to toss in your cart if you’re close to the free shipping threshold but not quite there.

 

J. Crew Factory Point Collar Solid or Gingham Dress Shirt – $29.70 ($59.50)

Or, if you want something a little less rumpled, there’s these over at the J. Crew Factory site.  Not available in neck and sleeve measurements though.  Just the standard S, M, L, etc…

 

J. Crew Corded Cotton Ludlow Sportcoat – $101.99 ($188)

Down to just Medium and XL at post time.  Fabric could be a little less stiff, but highly versatile.  Pattern is small enough that you can easily wear it with other, larger patterns.  Great with jeans.  Off white pants in summer too.
