Lands’ End / Lands’ End Canvas Spring Sale 2012

Free Shipping No Minimum with code SWIMHQ1 and pin 2512

Free shipping at $50 code is also active: WARM & pin 1940Expires 3/27/2012  But again, SWIMHQ1 and 2512 gets you free shipping no minimum, so hopefully that one stays active.

So this is odd.  When Lands’ End Canvas launched their Spring sale yesterday, there were a whopping 21 items in the men’s sale section (and there was much rejoicing?).  Kinda paltry.  But if you head over to big brother Lands’ End’s website, they have a bunch more under a section called “Canvas Clearance.”  Seems like a similar strategy that L.L. Bean has used before.  If it doesn’t sell on the sub-brand’s website, shift it on over to the big site, and see if it moves?

Who knows.  But there’s different stock on the Lands’ End site when it comes to Canvas sale items, and there’s some solid items available from the plain ol’ Lands’ End brand.  No matter the location, here’s the best of the best:
.

Lands’ End Cashmere Watch Cap – $34.99 ($59.50)
100% Cashmere.

You probably won’t be wearing it for the next, oh, half to 3/4 of the year, but Cashmere honks will tell you that now’s the time to get your hands’ on cashmere if you’re on a budget.  And since this’ll be on your head, and some wool hats can get itchy, a soft cashmere hat could be a good upgrade.

L.E.C. Blackwatch Wool/Leather Belt – $27.97 ($79.50)
Merry March Christmas

A blackwatch plaid wool blazer in spring will look out of place.  A blackwatch plaid wool belt might be the perfect way to mix it up.  Now under $30, and… wait, they were selling this for eighty dollars?

L.E.C. Cotton Cashmere Sweater – $14.97 ($59.50)
Give camel a chance.

It’s only 5% cashmere, so don’t think you’ll be able to really tell a difference, but it’s far from some thick, spongey, bulky fit all cotton sweater.  Fit could be trimmer, but it’s a good layering piece.  Six color options available, with sizes spread out, but three of the six colors, like this camel, do have a bulk of the sizes left.  V doesn’t dip too low either.

LE Spread Collar No-Iron – $44.99 | L.E.C. “Not Quite Perfect” Gingham Poplin – $19.95
Let them wear checks?

Dress shirt on the left is from Lands’ End, comes in neck and sleeve sizes, and has a spread collar.  Casual shirt on the right is from Lands’ End Canvas, has some “Measuring/sizing faults; fit issues” and has a button down collar.  Yup, sizing faults.  “Some Shirts had minimal sizing faults. Maddening as these defects are, they’re also quite minor. If we felt otherwise, you wouldn’t find us offering these at any price.”  You’ve been warned.

L.E.C. Suede Montrose Alpine Boots – $39.97 ($138)
Three colors, plenty of sizes.

Wow.  A hundred off.  You won’t walk around the world in these, but if you want a light suede boot that’ll be super light on your wallet?  Hard to beat $40.

L.E.C. Nailhead Blazer – $24.97 ($99.99)
Not this fitted in person. Needs some work.

It’s a little stiff.  Needs to be broken in, slept in, balled up, and thrown up against a wall a few times.  Runs a little long in the sleeves.  But the color/pattern is just different enough, and after your tailor goes to work on it, it might become a useful player to come off your closet’s bench.

L.E.C. Cream Stripe Supima V-Neck  – $39.99 ($60.00)
Jack & Meg unavailable for comment.

Yes you’ve seen this before.  But it’s worth repeating:  While some guys will be out in pink pants, lime green polos, and all sorts of bright colored accoutrements, if you’re just not that type and don’t want to look like a 3rd grader picked the color palate for your getup… stand out quietly with white.  Or off -white.  You won’t blend in but unlike the dude in the canary sweater and purple shorts, you won’t risk looking silly either.  Until you drop your ketchup covered hotdog on this thing while at the ball game.

L.E.C. Refined Herringbone Slim Fit Wool Chinos – $38.97 ($130)
Probably going to be prickly in June.

Not going to be wearing these for awhile, but they’re 100% wool and started off at a whopping $130.  Now under $40 and ship free with the no minimum code.  A warning, these should fit slimmer than the “tailored fit” from Lands’ End.  And speaking of….

The wait till next’ season splurge:  Tailored Fit Flannel Trouser –  $99.99 ($149.50)
Hell of a pair of trousers. For Thanksgiving.

95% wool and 5% cashmere.  From the regular Lands’ End line in can’t miss Glen Plaid.  Awesome pants.  Hard to pull the trigger on when you know you’re just going to have to put them in storage until… what… November?  And yes, it’s not really a “wait till next season” splurge, but more of a “wait till the season after next” season splurge, since technically the next season is summer.

For her:  L.E.C. Women’s Surf Shack Bikini Top – $6.97 ($34.50)
Four color options. Stare until you can pick out all of them.

It appears they’re out of the matching bottoms.  So your wife or girlfriend is out of luck.  But who cares.  This was only an excuse to post the memorizing Cintia Dicker.  And somehow she gets more mesmerizing when set to Sandstorm:
.

Word is the Lands’ End / Lands’ End Canvas spring sale is set to end on Tuesday 3/27.  Possibly.
