What Would You Pay? – Rugby’s Loud Blazer

Rugby Tartan Newbury Jacket – $169.99 ($398)

It started off as expensive as a basic SuitSupply suitThen it dropped down to the high $200s.  Now it’s at $170, and all the sizes are still available.  That’s more than $200 off retail.  And Rugby isn’t afraid to keep their goods at full retail for a good long while.

Maybe it’s because the pattern is pretty loud.  Maybe it’s because the styling on the model is so over the top that most guys can’t see this thing existing on it’s own.  Y’know, without a bow tie, club collar shirt, and preppy as all hell sweater.  Or maybe it’s because it’s thrown in the “outerwear” category as opposed to the “Suiting & Sport Coats” section (sure looks like a sport coat to me.)

Maybe it’s a combination of all three.

100% wool, ships free, all sizes available.

Regardless, it’s a once was $400 3-button jacket, in a distinctive as all hell pattern, now down to $170.  And that’s right in the blazer wheelhouse for those of us who don’t stray that far from Banana Republic prices.

But what would you pay?  Is it just not your style at all?  Would you wait for maybe another extra 25% off code to come along?  Cast your vote below, and leave any reasoning in the comments.
